So I'm from SC and I travel pretty much every week and have been all over most of the US. This was my first trip to NJ and was anxious to try some pizza from the NJ/NY area. After aimlessly wandering for a place to eat, I came across Parsippany's Best Pizza and decided to just walk in, not even looking at any reviews. First of all, the menu was overwhelming, which is a good thing, but once I decided to order I had to stand in front of the counter for nearly 5 minutes before my presence was even acknowledged even though they weren't really busy. I placed a carry-out order for a stuffed meat pie for $18, and waited roughly 15 minutes for it. It was delivered by a more-friendly server and I was off back to the hotel to dive into this 14" (medium) beast. I know there is a classic war between Chicago versus NY pizza, but honestly Detroit pizza takes first place. This pizza was decent, stuffed with plenty of meat, but parts of it tasted uncooked, even though the crust was pretty done. The bottom was pretty soggy with oil, but you can expect that from a pie full of greasy meat. Overall taste was ok, but I am not impressed, and was certainly not the "best" I have had. Its located in a small portion of a strip mall, and has a small seating area, but I found the place to be pretty dirty to my standards, and while I witnessed different people cleaning the display glass non-stop, the tables were not wiped down and used napkins were everywhere. So overall ratings: Pizza: Fair Service: Fair Delivery Time: Good Cleanliness: Poor If I am here again, I would probably eat here again, and try their other items, as people ordering in seemed to have good Italian dishes and as I said, the menu was...
Read moreUsually I never write reviews but these guys deserve it! While having some friends over for my housewarming party last weekend, one of my friends from the area began raving about Parsippany’s Best Pizza. I’m new to the area so I was unsure if they would deliver to my home in East Hanover about 8 miles away. I called them up and I was very pleased with the customer service. I was assured by the nice and very patient counterperson, Joe, that it would be no problem as long as I was okay with an hour delivery wait. I was totally fine with it, as it was a Friday night and my order was on the larger side; different sodas, 4 pies with toppings including a DELICIOUS “Drunk Grandma” with vodka sauce, 3 large Italian dinner dishes that were excellently prepared, and a desert Nutella Pie that was small, but almost made us call back for more desert! 3 days later, I’m still thinking about that meal at work! To my surprise, the outstanding delivery driver, Von, was there in about 35-40 minutes with a contagious smile. Our order was rather large but he set up and laid out everything for our party voluntarily while being friendly with some of my guests. He even asked if we had plastic cups and plates then took another trip out to his car so we “could spend more time drinking wine and less time doing dishes”. Talk about customer service! These guys get it! I haven’t tried any other pizza from the area yet but I might not need to. Great food, even greater staff, and I will DEFINITELY be back very soon....
Read moreThis was my favorite Pizza place when they opened, but over time it's getting dingier. The bathrooms have fallen by the wayside, you will usually see one or two employees in their kitchen clothes looking like their on their break, sitting in the dining room staring at the TV looking zombified.
While my wife ate I ordered a hot sandwhich and told the front desk that I am sitting with my wife. No sandwich came. After 30 minutes or so my wife and son were done eating so inquired about my food. After rummaging for a bit they figured out that my sandwich has been dying in a Togo bag on the delivery shelf.
This last time we ordered the gluten free pie for my son as we had on many occasions, my son had complained the past 2 times that the sauce is unusually acidic, this is a pizza he eats at least once a week, he knows what its supposed to taste like... This time however he got plain sick. His stomache hurt, he had really bad reflux, and he had the runs all night and day following. He's 4, and anyone that has a 4 year old will tell you that it's very easy to tell what they eat by their poop.
My sandwich was okay, since I had to take it home after it has died in the window I had to reheat it. So it was like any other reheated sandwich at that point I guess.
Please please please, go back to the food and atmosphere that made you guys so loved when...
