Updated - 10/28/23 My family has been to Qin Dynasty, located off of 46 East in Parsippany, many times over the years. This is really authentic, using incredibly fresh ingredients, expertly prepared to bring out the unique flavors and textures. Our visit two months ago was just as fantastic as the first. This establishment was packed tonight with Asian families enjoying long, leisurely meals. They have an extensive menu in English and Chinese, whose plates of food tickle both your mind, eye, and palate. Knowing autumn is the season in which crabs are delicious, my mom was craving and decided to order them. We also ordered chicken fried rice, sliced beef chow fun, seafood stir-fried with mixed vegetables, deep-fried eggplants with salt and pepper, sautéed beef with orange sauce and beef lo mein family style to share. The large lazy susan in the center made serving very easy. They specialize in seafood, but everything we've tried has always been fresh, well-seasoned, and delicious. The staff speaks adequate English. We continue to recommend this place. ————— If you're searching for authentic Cantonese cuisine, look no further than this restaurant. Situated off of Route 46 East in Parsippany, Qin Dynasty is very popular among locals and the Chinese community, where we’ve been many times over the years. It does pay to go with someone who knows the cuisine. Dim sum is the star of this establishment over the weekend and lunch, which makes it a busy restaurant. Reservations were easily made via Google for dinner tonight. Upon entering, the restaurant is quite large, with the main room having many tables and a smaller room on the side with just 6–8 booths. My partner, my family and I were greeted and seated immediately. With white tablecloths on the table and Chinese prints on the wall, it was typically uncluttered and simple. Their menu was very extensive in Chinese and English but specialized in seafood. We decided on Sliced Beef Chow Fun (dry style), Sweet and Sour Chicken, Deep Fried Crispy Chicken, Seafood Stir-Fried with Mixed Vegetables, and Steamed Giant Prawn in a black sauce. The food had so much flavor, and it was always hot and fresh. The staff was very hardworking, so you’ll get the meals immediately. The price is pretty standard, and it is overall one of the better places in Jersey. Worth the drive, which we continue...
Read moreIt was my first time at a place for dim sum so I walked in and said we were interested in the dim sum and we were seated immediately with a blank check placed on the table, hot tea was placed on our table and a women grabbed a cart that was sitting near the entrance and offered us small egg rolls and some small pork dish in which we accepted (it was the only thing on the cart). The food was super cold like it's been sitting there for some time so we left the pork untouched and snacked on the cold 4 tiny rolls (literally the size of a finger). 20 minutes pass and we are still just sitting there, being ignored by everyone and the restaurant is not even busy. Food is coming out to all the tables around us and we are just sitting there so confused because we don't know how this thing works and we were never even given menus. So we continue to wait another 10 minutes and still nothing. We had enough at this point so we get up to leave and a waiter screams and asks if we are done. My husband reply's and says "done with what?? We sat for 30 minutes and were ignored and offered a small plate of cold pork that is still sitting on the table". My husband proceeds to ask for a manager and they said there no manager so the lady at the front with a very nasty attitude says we have to pay for the food and we didn't agree and expressed the food we were given was cold and we barely touched it, she demanded we pay $5 for the little egg rolls we ate! at this point we placed the $5 on the counter and walked out. It's clear and obvious that my husband and I were from a different cultural background but I have never in my life felt like I wasn't welcomed in a place until this experience. We've never felt more uncomfortable and this is by far the worst restaurant experience we've ever had! In conclusion, I would NEVER recommend...
Read moreWe were on a trip and stopped here on our way on a Friday morning and arrived a little after 11 am and found the restaurant closed. We then came back on a Monday at noon on our way back home. There were a few tables and we were seated right away. After we placed the order for Dim Sum, the restaurant started to get busy with many other customers. We waited for about 20 minutes and only ONE dim sum came. After another 15 minutes of waiting, I asked the waiter to check on our order and he said the kitchen was very busy and that he already told them to rush. Meanwhile, we saw all these other tables being served with food. These people arrived after us and were getting dim sum right and left. We were with our toddler who was hungry and we were getting upset that none of the waiters came by. We saw them carrying dishes and asking around if they ordered "this" while completely ignoring our table, with one of the dish that we had ordered. We were seated towards the back where the fish tanks were so they just walked right by us. I had to grab another waiter and ask him again. Then he brought TWO more dishes. Then the said he didn't know when the rest would come out and that two of the 8 things we ordered were not available. This is already almost an hour later that we were told and then they finally brought the remaining three dishes. This was the worst dim sum experience we ever had. They were so disorganized and they didn't prioritize the order of arrival/orders and not once came by to check our table. If it weren't for my toddler who was hungry, we would have walked out of there. I would have given them a 0 star...
