My family has been going to this bakery since the day they opened. 11 years. Several times a month. Loved the quality. We would purchase the Spartak Cake every year for birthdays. We have also sent many customers to this business because of the quality of their product. We'll, it's now Nov./Dec. 2024 and things have changed. We bought a cake on April 24 for my wife's birthday, just about $50.00. Unfortunately, it didn't go over very well with our 15 guests because it was stale. The cake had the consistency of cardboard. Obviously, it was old. The next day when I brought this to the attention of the young girl running the bakery all she offered me was " oh well, that happens sometimes." I said that it was really bad and really expensive e and after 11 years of being a regular customer I was hoping for a better response. She just stared at me in silence. We'll, last week we stopped in for 2 NY Cheescake Cupcakes (one regular and one mocha.) They were tasteless and not fresh. This business is not what it once was in quality or service. While there last week, I left my name and number and asked for the owner to please call me. Nothing. No response, no call. We're done with a business who does not care about the quality of their goods or taking care of regular customers..rating-.no...
Read moreI gave 2 stars only because it was clean and the desserts looked great.
The service, however, was not good. I walked in and no one came from the back to greet me for about a minute. Not too long really but it was long enough for me to wonder if they might be closed.
When a burly youngish man came from the back I asked if they had a sampler pack or something like that as I was planning on taking some goodies to work with me. He said people just usually pick what they want from the display. Since I am a truck driver and all of my coworkers are the same, I decided to go with something simple. I asked for 2 dozen assorted cupcakes. The man behind the counter proceeded to make me feel stupid for choosing cupcakes by saying, "No, you came to a European bakery, why not try some of our other products. Why would you choose cupcakes?".....Well, jeez, I didn't know "bakery snobs" existed. Why do they sell cupcakes if first time customers aren't allowed to buy 24 of them?
If you go here, I'm quite sure their products are delicious. However, I walked out in confusion and will not be back because of how embarrassed this guy made me. He even apologized to the customer behind me as if I had inconvenienced him...
Read moreAwesome place. Everything tastes really good. Have tried macaroons at other places at a higher price but they don’t taste as good as Aliona’s, and awesome flavors. They introduce new flavors quite often. The cakes are also awesome, if they have a precut one(usually on the weekdays) you can buy a slice to try them all. They always have extra cakes on hand so there’s almost no need to call ahead for one unless there’s a major influx of special events around the community or holidays. They really care about their service and product. The owner is really nice and if you want to try something new he makes great recommendations. They have some hot food as well, we get the Piroshki which is dough buns filled with different fillings. Our favorite is the cheese filled one. The banana pastry is one we always get as well. But whatever you choose to go with, it will be good. Everything is fresh because of how busy they are. Expect long lines but it is worth it. When you get to the counter the owner will answer any question you have and give you his full attention, grade A customer service like...
