Salata — Restaurant in Pearland

Not sure why my husband's name comes up on this post, however, it is, I Roxanne Silva, who is posting this review. I dined for lunch at Salata in Pearland yesterday, and got VIOLENTLY ILL! If I could give this place a negative 10 stars, I would! A few hours after eating there, I got a severe headache which was worst than a migraine. I was in so much pain that I could not stop crying (I'm not a cryer). The pain and pressure was so intense that my eyes wanted to pop out of my eye sockets. I felt like my head was going to literally explode. Then I began having stomach cramps and started vomiting profusely. (I have never had a weak stomach in my life, on the contrary). The salad at Salata was the only thing I had eaten all day as I had met a friend for lunch there. The excruciating pain in my head was unbearable, like nothing I have felt before. The pain from heaving, coupled with throwing up 6 times, the last 2 times being merely bile, but just as painful coming up (pardon my candor but necessary), was unbearable. My husband and sons and daughter wanted to take me to ER but I was literally too limp to peel myself off floor and away from toilet where I hung vomiting. This morning, feeling better, I texted the friend I had dined with at Salata, and she informed me that she too was deathly ill last night and could not leave her toilet. We both had shrimp in our salads, only I had all shrimp and she had seafood mix, which included some shrimp, but less than mine. The salad at Salata was the only meal my friend had had yesterday as well, and we were both on our death beds yesterday after having eaten at Salata - I'm not exaggerating one bit. It was the worst head and stomach pain I have ever felt in my life! This is why I decided to write a review (which I never do), in order to warn other Salata patrons; as I would not wish this type of agony on a worst...

Update 07/30/23 (Plus 2 stars): $undried tomatoes are BACK!!! Well earned and regained lost stars for having management that apparently listens and CARES!💚 Seriously, I was going to another location that had them, and was beyond pleased that they brought them back. Initially, when I came to this location, by mistake (thinking there were no sun-dried tomatoes), I was overjoyed to find that my mistake was -in fact- not a mistake. I realize it sounds petty, but I love them what was previously lacking. They WERE NOT OUT of anything as before, things like: eggs, bacon, ect. . They had a PERFECT selection today -of everything for a PERFECT salad... They had spinach, red lettuce mix, romaine lettuce, pink onions, tomatoes, (sun-dried tomatoes are BACK, kidney beans NOPE, but not a deal killer), black beans, (edamame beans are BACK), bean sprouts, peas, chickpeas, blue cheese, feta cheese, mixed shredded cheese, parmesan cheese, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, almond slices, bacon bits (well stocked!), pesto chicken, chipotle chicken, smoked chicken/salmon, shrimp, seafood mix, alvacado, artichoke hearts, multigrain (or wheat?) croissant rolls, whole wheat peta chips, crutons and a few other things I'm forgetting, as well as multiple tangy salad dressings that have the calories listed (big +). I really do enjoy their selection and most of their employees are helpful and courteous, with rare exceptions. I was so floored, I had to get an extra salad for my sweet wife, who is hard at work taking care the less fortunate. This location is back to A+ status, and for all the effort, I would say they deserve AAA+ status! Fantastic work ppl! I'm so thankful to see that they took notice! 💓 😘 (Ps, from the sound of I believe one of the patrons was being overly harsh with Felicia! Too many ppl are quick to find fault nowadays and rarely give praise...

Decided to go out and grab a healthy meal after a long day of work for the family so what’s healthier then a salad. Went in to this location and was highly disappointed by the customer service, walked in and it was literally only 1 customer in front of me but it took about 7 minutes to order. The young man taking the order greeted me simply with for here it to go. Most of the containers were empty at we talking at 3:40pm. Moved on to the young lady putting the toppings and again nothing, she looked as if she didn’t want to be bothered then they started talking and laughing with each other about nothing having to do with work, while I’m in the middle of telling her the toppings some man comes from the back and starts talking to her and I’m just waiting until they finish their conversation... not to mention it’s about 5 people behind me. At this point I’m being very understanding but as I proceed down the line a young lady by the name of Amber walks over to ask what meat I would like so I tell her chicken please but before I could ask her a question she had already put the chicken so I then ask was it different sizes of chicken scoops due to my mom not being able to eat probably a full serving and just wanting half the serving.. this lady Amber proceeds to yell at me it’s only one size spoon over here. At this point I’m super irritated and even more so because the coworkers of hers start laughing as if being rude to customers was okay. After that the horrible customer service didn’t stop it just continued with the young lady Amber, I started to leave everything right there and walk out. The fact that this type of behavior seems acceptable...
