Terrible experience purchasing a couch. Before I placed order I was told one piece was on back order for 2 weeks. After placing the order and opening the city credit card I was informed 2 pieces on back order. The salesman then placed a delivery for two weeks later and said cannot get any sooner. Delivery experience was a nightmare. Driver called wrong number even though I gave clear instructions with the correct number to call. Then when he arrived he was upset that he was supposed to connect the couch pieces together and said it wasn’t his job because it was two separate deliveries. Then he said he connected the power for the recliners and left in a hurry. After he left we discovered the couches were not connected correctly and none of the chairs reclined and missing a connector for the power to work. Then in addition the price I was supposed to pay was not the price charged to the credit card and now I am reaching out for them to correct it. I also have to wait at home all day in 2 days for a technician to come and fix the delivery driver’s mistakes. I clearly informed them they are missing the transformer piece and from day one. Everyone passes the buck. The customer service rep said do not worry the technician will come fully prepared with all equipment. Now I have been waiting for the technician all day and when I called they are running late and hopefully will come tonight. I spoke with the customer service and asked for a supervisor and reached Lamoya. She basically said I am stuck with this purchase and said the technician will not have the transformer and she can mail it out to me. They expect me to put it together myself or wait another full wasted day waiting for a technician again. Meantime my couch reclining is not operable and is uncomfortable. The representative that responded to this review did ABSOLUTELY nothing when I emailed the Kate@cityfurniture.com except say sorry for the inconvenience. City furniture traps you in the sale by saying NO RETURNS or discounts even with all of the mistakes, valuable time wasted and resources to have someone home all the deliveries and visits. Their answer is “I signed the paper” so no refunds or discounts. DO NOT sign any paperwork if you have partial delivery and WAIT until all pieces are delivered and WORKING. She was asked to sign all documents electronically. She was never sent these documents electronically. When I drove to the store to request a paper copy of these contract documents, they REFUSED to provide me a copy. This was the same response I got from Ken Young, the salesman and Genesis, the store manager at that time. Instead, they “pretended” to explain that I could speak with a higher company manager and try to request this from day. After many minutes in hold and yet another request for paper copies of the contract, I was yet ignored. I finally left the store and by the time I got home, I received a call from another “company manager” - though later in the conversation she explained she really wasn’t a manager. Once again (3rd time), I asked to speak with a REAL and TRUE manager so I could obtain these papers, to no avail. IT SEEMS THIS COMPANY HAS PEOPLE WORKING BUT NO ASSISTANCE IS GIVEN TO CUSTOMERS BECAUSE NO ONE CAN MAKE EASY DECISIONS. Then, the following day, Coleen (another “quasi” company manager) called regarding our situation but once again my request to obtain the paper documents/contract were ignored. This was not our first purchase at this store, but it will be our last. PLEASE NOTE: This store lies and is NOT transparent with customers when they are making purchases. THIS IS UNPROFESSIONAL and customer requests are just ignored. I honestly must have requested to speak with a real manager and requested these documents with over (6) quasi managers. They have NO idea on how to treat customers and all they do is waste their time and lie by omitting and neglecting to provide customers their legal purchasing paperwork. Read moreI ordered a table and 4 chairs I decided to get threshold delivery as the items come in box's and I can assemble them as I would rather do that myself as my experience is that they use battery power tools and strip out screws sowhen my delivery arrived the table was in the original box and the four chairs were assembled one chair had instant damage the other 3 I did not check straightway when I did I found stripped screws and missing screws I called customer service they told me no problem and they would ship me 4 new chairs in the box unassembled I waited about a week for this delivery when they showed up thay had one chair assembled as the driver picked it up a screw fell out of it from being over tightened I refused it when I called customer service they were no help lied to me telling that the chairs come from Vietnam assembled but I spoke to someone I know who worked there margrett griswald and she told me they have whole team that assemble them I think her husband is one of them I then spoke to another customer service supervisor she told me she would file a special request to not assemble them when they come in late October meanwhile I have no furniture that I have paid for and I still have a bad feeling that they will still come assembled or should I say destroyed I have tried to contact people in corporate and they will not respond Andrew koneig what a way to do business this is not my first bad experience with them but I guess it will be my last chairs are missing screws...
