Well I thought I'd never have to write this type of review on my favorite fast food place, but. Last night was the worst service I got from Whataburger, Pflugerville store, ever. It was an unusually longer wait in the drivethru on Sunday night @ 8:15pm. I ordered two shakes. I finally get up to the window at 8:45-ishpm. There are two drinks sitting in the window with a couple more behind it. A young lady was near the drink dispenser but then walked off. I sat in my car looking intensely in the window hoping to catch the eye of the folks inside - anyone - to just open the window, take my payment and hand me my shakes sitting right there!! What I saw inside echos some of the other reviews of this site - people talking, laughing, walking back and forth, one came close to grab herself a drink, I'm waving, but at this point I guess I'm invisible. There is nothing wrong with having fun at work but you also have to be attentive to the job. Finally at 8:54!! A young man comes to the window and asks if I had the two shakes, yes, but I've been waiting over 5 minutes for them. I hand him my card. But I'm asking what was the hold up. Is it these two drinks that I've been staring at in the window when I first drove up? He hands me my card and receipt and says yes, I wasn't at the window so I don't know what's going on. I'm done - give me a refund which manager quietly did, no argument. The man looked liked he was coming out a war zone so much chaos could be heard in background. Read moreMy family used to come here a few times a month. Our last three visits were a bit disappointing. 3rd to last visit waited in line for about 10 mins. We understood since staff is low etc, but once up to the counter was told it would be a 40 min wait. I did a doubletake as I thought the young lady at the counter said 4 mins but she repeated 40 mins. I said Ok then, we walked over to Chik-Fil-A and had no problem.......2nd to last visit we ordered our items with no problem. The floors were sticky and the tables were all dirty. I had to run to the restroom and get a few wet and dry paper towels to wipe down our table. Once we got the food the burgers were lukewarm and fries were cold..........Our last visit I should have known better than to go back but we were in the same shopping area. This time the place was a completely disorganized. Once up to the counter we noticed that the crew was more busy cutting up than actually getting orders out. From the counter we could see the pile of trash and fries on the floor where the orders are kept. See pics attached. Trash overflowing from the cans, trash under tables, floors all dirty and sticky again. Our burgers were room temp and the cheese like it had just come out of the fridge. That did it for me. I wrote corporate with my grievances and sent them the pictures. No response back, its been a few weeks. Obviously they have no concern. Read moreI used to go to this Whataburger every summer night as a senior in HS… This was the place to go, we’d meet our friends and have a great time. I still live Pville and have continued to come to this location. But in recent years each visit has progressively gotten worse.
Normally I’d brush it off, and move on but this time something has got to be said. There have been multiple instances where they appear closed, because the drive-thru lanes were blocked with cones, so we’d call the store prior to coming just to ensure the location was open and were argued with, and told they were open. But again, we’d pull up and see the drive-thru blocked. We’d call again, and they said they were open but there was no way we could order our food…
Tonight, this location was very much open, and to avoid any confusion I placed an online order and came to pick it up. I get home, and realize they forgot to put part of my order in the bag, and the food that was received was raw. The onion rings specifically were soggy, the onions weren’t cooked, the sandwich we did end up getting was undercooked as well.
I’ve worked in the fast food industry as well so to some degree I understand, and I normally wouldn’t complain. But at this point every visit the experience ends up being worse than the last. It’s a shame to see a place that I spent some of my best days in, turn into this. All I ask is for some type of improvement...
