We had not had sushi in Philly in awhile and we were not impressed, kinda average. The food was good, don't get me wrong. However the roll I had ordered used cucumber as the wrapping (nori). But it was good ๐I guess I missed that detail ๐
We were offered to sit anywhere and one of our guests picked by the door (which was open BTW). So many times vehicles and buses were nosey going by (along with the music inside was loud at times. I mean, next time I'll have to remind myself to sit further back. ๐
The only thing I might suggest might be bad was the service. It's not like it was bad bad, but it was maybe just too relaxed for us. We knew what we were going to order, and had to wait. Then waited for asking about getting the check. Then waited for the chance to get the check. I'm not going to say anything super bad but the waitress was definitely taking care of multiple other things not just us. So maybe short staffed?
I think the prices for the combo of 2 or 3 was rather silly (on both types). There is zero savings on getting two or three that way unless maybe you get the most expensive but even then no!
I kinda thought a combo or multiple order for a single person would get some kind of discount. But according to the prices there basically is none. Oh well...
We left here for Mr Wish but that was a mistake. Maybe we should have tried the desserts here. Maybe next time! Staff...
ย ย ย Read moreso initially upon walking into the restaurant it was nice a nice chill vibe.. the attendant seemed chill... I paid for my order went to the bathroom and ran into a older papasan... I politely excuse myself went into the bathroom.. I came out and I saw that the attendant was waiting on a white young man and his mother I believe and they seem quite friendly with him speaking excitedly in their language about how they really thought the young man had manners or whatever they were saying... but when it came to me Papasan said something rude and the attendents laughed and when it came time for me to leave I said goodbye and one of the attendants said a half-hearted lukewarm bye.. and I know I'll never go back because my money is just as good as a little white boy that came in there... one thing I noticed about these types of people is they like black people's money but they try to make fun of us in their language and they really don't have the room to talk about anyone the way THEY LOOK ๐๐ฅด... this is the reason why I encourage black people to spend your money where you are wanted not where you are...
ย ย ย Read moreCame here for the first and last time today -- unfortunately, not impressed. I ordered the chirashi, which was advertised as 18 pieces of sashimi, rice, and soup or salad. When the food came, it was sparse, and I counted only 14 non-rice items. The soup also did not come. I had to remind the waiter that it came with soup, and when I brought up the fact that my dish only had 14 items (not all of which were fish) they dismissed me at first before they finally agreed to give me what the menu advertised. No apology, and overall I felt like the service came across disinterested and rude. I left with the impression that there was a conscious attempt to skimp on what they were promising on the menu. The food was average in taste. I wonder if I had ordered takeout/delivery (as the majority of their clientele seems to do) whether they would have short changed their customers on the amount of food they give. There are better similarly-priced sushi restaurants...
