Alchemy Coffee — Restaurant in Philadelphia

We walked into the coffee shop, tricked by Google’s high rating, not knowing it is a cannabis type store. Well, we were not there for a CBD drink or cookie, but just for a good coffee. I should mention that we got there 15 minutes before closing on a Sunday, so their espresso machine was shut down already, we were told. We ended up getting three drip coffees, horrible coffee TBH, too acidic, given to us in to go cups. No pastries, not much coffee condiments either, no milk, no steering sticks of any sort, etc. Frankly, all three of us ended up pouring the coffees down the drain, after a few sips. I normally do not post negative reviews, but this time I felt obligated to post this review and rating here, to balance out the “good” ratings. Either the CBD infused stuff are making up for all the good reviews (perhaps) or the reviews are unreal/made up. Workers here just cared about talking to each other and nothing else. Wifi was not working-not a single person in the shop could find the network. Asked the staff twice to help figure this out because the network was not showing up on anyone's list. They just responded with 'restart your laptop' and turned away and thats it. Normally I would not care, but you're a coffee shop in a city with 10 colleges around you and people trying to do work there. Of course I was in a double losing situation and my hotspot was not working either, but when multiple people get up and ask about the wifi not working, you would think there would be a little more effort...

I visited this café for the first time on 2/13 to get some work done quickly. I arrived 45 minutes before closing and ordered a matcha. While the matcha itself was good, the service was disappointing. The blonde barista was unfriendly, didn’t smile, and didn’t ask whether I wanted my drink iced or hot—she simply served it hot. About 15 minutes before closing, another barista made a loud and passive-aggressive announcement about the café closing soon. It was clear that neither of them wanted to be there, and their attitude made for an unwelcoming experience. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the best...
