I found Chrisetta's Kitchen by randomly google searching Liberian restaurants in Pennsylvania and was excited to find this place in West Chester.
Regarding the food, the Liberian cuisine that I have tried thus far is very delicious. There are so many dishes to chose from and plenty of options whether you eat meat, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy free, and nut free. One entree, comfortably provides two servings and the meat provided in the dishes are very generously portioned. I have tried the Check Rice and Gravy, Cassava Leaf and Rice, Torborgee and Rice, Okra Sauce and Rice, and Egusi soup with Fufu. Everything was pleasantly tasty! I like that the pepper sauce is provided on the side so you have the option of making your food spicy or not.
For our eco-conscious people, all of the containers used are bio-degradable and compostable reducing plastic waste.
The best way to order is to call or order online. I always call and am warmly greeted and provided with what is on the daily menu.
In regards to ambience, Chrisetta's Kitchen is as the name applies. It is not a sit down restaurant. It is located in the Kitchen of a church and serves take out only.
Overall, I enjoy the food and frequent the Kitchen weekly. I look forward to trying more dishes and encourage you to try it out. In the event that you try the food and do not like it, please try to still encourage and support our small business owners! I would love for Chrisetta's Kitchen to become a mainstay...
Read moreMy experience at Chrisetta’s Kitchen is always an amazing one. Their meals taste homemade and staffs are professional. The manager is always friendly and accommodating to customers as well. I’ve had most of the items on their menu and they all tasted great. My favorites are the dry rice with fried fish and the fufu and soup. Definitely one of the best African/ Liberian restaurants in PA. When on the hunt for a something homemade without doing the cooking, please...
Read moreMy friends and I were thrilled to find this gem for dinner last night! They’re in the basement of a beautiful church and serve an array of Liberian food, including a vegan menu. Chrisetta was so warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious. Her Mom was visiting from Liberia. 😍 Be careful with that hot sauce, y’all! 😉 It’s a take out spot but the church is welcoming and we were able to eat there (we drove in from out of town on a very...
