Honestly, all of the staff was great except for who I assume was supposed to be a bouncer. Me and a large group of friends came on a Friday night (yesterday). At some point, a woman heard our conversation and decided to be extremely rude to our table over something she misheard. Her behavior continued to escalate throughout the night and the serving staff, managers, etc were all aware. At some point, the manager and âbouncersâ pulled her aside and some of us were telling them to kick her out after she had made several of us uncomfortable. This man (bald and with a beard) was a âbouncerâ I assume and decided to spend his energy fully screaming at me as soon as I, along with my friends, lightly chanted âkick her outâ because she was so horrible and because they seemed to be not sure about kicking her out as it was taking forever. He screamed in my face and threatened to kick me out, despite me and my friend group being a victim of this womanâs behavior. At this point, I walked out because I did nothing wrong and was being screamed at by this man who works for the bar. Everyone except for this man was really great to us, including the server who was really great and had to deal with her too. This man though was on a power trip and clearly has a lot of anger and should not be allowed to interact with people as he cannot control his emotions. By the time I got outside, 3 of my friends were also out there because this woman had verbally abused them to the point of leaving and management was not acting on it fast enough. I have no idea why this man decided it was ok to treat me way worse than the woman verbally abusing us and the staff. I also have no idea why the manager, who seemed really nice, allows that kind of behavior from her staff, as she was really...
Read moreWe had a great visit here on July 28th. We found ourselves having to stay in Philadelphia for an extra day. We were tired, so we walked to this bar. On the way, a homeless guy asked us "to shine a light in my ear, I think my medicine is stuck", we declined and ducked into this pub.
It was mid-afternoon, after lunch and only a few people were at the bar. We took a window seat and ended up being "entertained" by the homeless guy outside. I won't get into the details, but let's just say he took a liking to my wife, but the window separated us. The waitress, who was FANTASTIC, asked how we were doing and when I pointed out the antics of the guy, let's just say she was SHOCKED. She worked there 3 years and never saw anything like it. I am in my mid 50's and never witnessed anything of the sort.
However, that wasn't the fault of the restaurant, nor the girl who waited on us. She apologized many times, but we ended up moving tables and talking a bit with here. I wanted to give her a shout out as she handled it very well. She was also personable and friendly. We talked about our families and jobs, etc. It ended up being a good time.
Drinks were great and the only thing I photographed, but I ordered a Rueben and it was fantastic! Food and drinks were excellent! Service was excellent! I didn't want that to get lost in the review because of other circumstances. Great job and great visit Fado Irish Pub! You made our last day completely worth the visit. We are glad we found you and will return when we visit there again! Thank you to the waitress "Jersey girl" who grew up with brothers, I am sorry I forgot your name, but YOU fixed everything! We appreciate you and look forward to meeting you again sometime. Fado's better never let you go and give...
Read moreI attended Fado on 6 February with 3 of my friends. We were very pleased with our server, her name was Maddy. She was a young college student that attended Temple. We ordered several things we wanted to try. Everything we ordered was amazing. Loved the pretzel with and the $80 GIANT mule was delicious! However, we did not order the managerâs (named Shara) terrible attitude or passive-aggressiveness. The drink she delivered to the table was slammed down in front of me and she stormed away, without any acknowledgment of us customers. It was apparent she was very frustrated with her job and the staff, she was visibly flustered when she wasnât texting at the bar in-between chugs of her beer. It appeared she had a couple of friends at a table near the bar because that is where she went to drink, and at one point she yelled (quite loudly) âsit downâ, then later returned to nonchalantly converse with them. Two of our other friends wanted to join us, so they arrived and spoke with her requesting a bigger table and she informed us they were at max capacity. Then abruptly said to my friend âif you want to sit somewhere sit there but you canât stay hereâ and then pointed at a small couch in the entryway. We requested her name from Maddy, who apologized we were not satisfied and we thanked her, I believe Shara overheard us because that is when she (Shara) came up to the table we were still actively drinking at and started snatching the silverware from directly in front of us, which was the final straw. She once again didnât even acknowledge us customers and stormed off. I feel bad for her subordinates for the way she treated them. Aside from her horrid behavior the restaurant, food/drinks, and environment was...
