UNPROFESSIONAL; DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS; CANCELS RESERVATIONS - JUST TO EARN A BUCK
I WILL NEVER BE SPENDING ANY OF MY MONEY AT MISCONDUCT TAVERN.
Yesterday (NFL Championship Sunday), my fiancee made a reservation for a party of seven at Misconduct ahead of time, and our reservation was confirmed. Our reservation was at 4:00pm. At 3:30pm, a representative from Misconduct Tavern called my fiancee to tell her that they were CANCELLING OUR RESERVATION, because they had lots of walk-ins and decided to give our table away. Last time I checked, the entire point of making reservations was to ensure you had a table in the event that there were too many walk-ins. Moreover, my friends were coming from 45 minutes away, so CANCELLING OUR TABLE A HALF AN HOUR BEFORE OUR RESERVATION was extremely inconvenient, since now we were scrambling to find other accommodations for a large group (which included children), while simultaneously redirecting my friends who were already on the road. Finally, management had the audacity to offer to move our reservation to the next day, even though the entire purpose of our making a reservation was to make sure that we would be able to come in, sit, and watch the game as we ate and drank.
I have no problem with an establishment that does not take reservations, or does not take reservations on a day where they expect lots of walk-ins (Championship Sunday or Superbowl Sunday). However, to take our reservation ahead of time, then cancel it a half an hour before, is extremely rude and unprofessional. Regarding a party of seven with children in particular, management at Misconduct Tavern should have known that it would be difficult for us to find another establishment with only a half an hour's notice. After already confirming the reservation, I would think that a professional establishment would deal with a slight loss of income that comes from holding an empty table for half an hour, rather than destroy the good will of its customers to earn a half an hour more's worth of profits. I have to conclude that Misconduct Tavern is NOT a professional establishment.
THAT BEING SAID, we had the extreme fortune of being able to get a table for seven at Kite and Key (because Kite and Key is willing to take reservations for parties of six or more). We had a good time, the pizza was especially great, the beer selection was different and did not disappoint, and the Broncos won.
BOTTOM LINE I recommend that anyone considering Misconduct Tavern should look elsewhere. There are too many good places in Philadelphia for you to be spending...
Read moreI was excited to dig into some mac n cheese my friends were raving about. Came in 5pm Saturday and there was a 30min wait. I can't hate on a place because they're busy, but I was really shocked there was a decent wait at 5pm, no major games playing.
We come back after the hostess texted us (which is cool/convenient) and she was just shamelessly flirting with this server. No acknowledgement that there are 5 of us standing right in front of her. I almost wanted to smack her out of her love spell! Then, after telling us she's about to seat us, she gets in an argument with a server RIGHT IN FRONT OF US. Like she's showing this server major sass and there's major tension and still..we are just standing there. I've never had a bad hostess but here ya go.
Then we sit down. Missing chairs. Wouldn't you want to check that the table has 5 seats before you seat us? Whatever. A server comes over and tries to appeal to our emotions that there's a family waiting who wants to see the Nutcrakcer and if we could move tables. I'm a nice person, so fine. Another waiter comes over asking for our orders...major confusion I thought we were moving! We moved. Dirty table. No menus. Missing chair part 2. Water takes a while.
Finally get to ordering and the server does that whole "memorized it" act.Ugh, can you please just write it down for my own sanity?! And then she comes over and wastes everyone's time going over our order..which she in fact did mess up in her memorizing multiple times. And one of my friends order's was messed up.
There were people allll over our table because the space between the bar and the table is reminisce. There was tons of drunk leftover people from Running of the Santas..again not Misconduct's fault, but they could have dealt with it way better. Like after moving us I thought they'd put the first appetizer on the house or something. Terrible service, so-so food. Rant...
Read moreI wish I could give half a star. I watched the Super Bowl here and will never be back. I will tell everyone to never come here if they mention the city of Philadelphia. Worst watching experience for the big game in my life. To start we got there an hour and half before the doors opened to wait in line. From walking on all the trash left outside to trying to stop people from cutting in line in took 3 hours to get in. They decided to let at max groups of 5 in every so often. Once I got in I was yelled at by the manager/person collecting the cover to close the door because he was getting cold. I waited 3 hours in the cold. You can handle a draft from a door while you collect the ridiculous $40 cover. After that the sound was so low you couldn’t hear any of the game broadcast. They couldn’t even successfully play the eagles fight song after scoring and we put up 35 points!!! I still have no idea what took so long to get in...
