WARNING this place charges a bogus ācredit feeā for using a credit card on a purchase of ANY AMOUNT that they donāt warn you about. There is no minimum for a credit card. Just regardless of how much you spend, you still get hit with this fee and they donāt tell you about it ahead of time. I called ahead to place my to-go order and confirmed that they took accepted credit cards on the phone with the girl and she said yes. But no mention of any minimum or charge whatsoever. When I go to pick up my food, they hit me with this charge and of course they donāt have a receipt I can look at before paying so how was I supposed to know they would charge me?? Extremely unprofessional and flat out a scam, I understand lots of places have a minimum until they allow you to use a credit card without a fee but this is ridiculous and Iām pretty sure this is an illegal policy which, yes, we all turn a blind eye to for restaurants that have a credit card MINIMUM however this is excessive. I placed a sizeable order and for them to charge me extra for using a credit card with no warning is unacceptable.
The food was mediocre and nothing special. The bourbon chicken was overly sweet and the chunks of chicken were undercooked and frankly I could not eat the larger pieces because of how undercooked they were. The Hunan chicken was not very flavorful. The soups are also smaller than the standard size that all other Chinese restaurants provide with their lunch specials. Iāve also read several reviews stating that people found bugs in their food or had undercooked meat which is absolutely a health hazard.
Save your money and walk a few blocks to Chinatown to get much higher quality food for decent prices. At least those restaurants are upfront about their credit card policies and the food is WAY better...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLooking for a quick (like INCREDIBLY QUICK) pickup option for "mall" chinese food at a reasonable price? I highly recommend Golden Chopsticks. It's no frills, fast and easy service, comes extremely hot if you pick up on time, and the food satisfies when I'm craving the nostalgic flavors of food from mall food courts. It's saucy, not too salty or tangy, and always extremely fresh because the kitchen is constanyly fulfilling orders.
They keep my business because Golden Chopsticks has one of the last affordable lunch and dinner combo boxes in the city. It's a great deal and you get a good amount of food with a decent ratio of protein to vege to rice.
If anything, I wish they added more vinegar and spice to the hot & sour soup, but if I order it I just add more at home. The velveting technique they use is solid for all of their soups and sauces! We like to order an egg drop soup and a wonton soup to mix them together.
Misc info: I love their packaging. The food stores and reheats well in the containers they use and we never have an issue repacking the leftovers to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm reluctant to leave a review, and I dont often write them, but tonight customer service was terrible. This is my go to spot for chinese food ever since I was child growing up in the neighborhood. I'm a very long time customer and I order from here very often. This place is not consistent with their food quality. On a good day, it taste great, hence why I still order from here. Tonight was not a good day.
I ordered a 3 Wing platter with fried rice with 4 extra wings, and tonight the wings looked and tasted terrible. Called up and the man offered to exchange them. When I showed him what I payed money for, he showed the cook (an older gentleman in the kitchen), he didn't look happy. Kept shaking his head like I should've kept them old wings. After hollering to another older lady that works there about the wings, he throws the new batch of wings on the table and heads to back to the kitchen. There's some type of audacity to make it seem like I was the problem. If there's one more issue with this place, I won't be ordering here again, and I'd urge anyone else to...
