U guys need to improvise the rules on not cheering or dancing for their diplomas, that they work hard for. And u make it so they can't cheer, bc of one autistic adult at a school, that the crowd there didn't cheer on, bc they were asked not to, so he cld walk up on the stage. And they did it bc they knew him. It was awesome. But what yr doing here, isnt. These r not autistic adults here in these ceremonies. They're normal adults graduating. And no disabled adults were graduating to need that rule in place. Yr treating them as tho there r disabled adults needing this. That's where the idea came from. And u just take it and run. U need to improvise it where, when the disabled adults r there, then u act upon that. I watched the video of the school that happened at. U don't run with the idea when it's not the same circumstance. No. That was a different circumstance. And the whole crowd knew abt it and loved it. U guys need to improvise this. I was proud of the gal walking on stage. U shld've been too. It looks like u guys r hating on yr ppl. It looks like u want to enialate her. It looks rlly bad, if I were The Principal, I would be changing it, knowing it's not working. If there is someone in the crowd, necessarily, who is disabled and needs that silence, that's one thing. But not for the normal ppl graduating. They can handle life. Improvise this rule made for the disabled, bc it's not rt using it with normal ppl. It's not the same circumstance as the other disabled adult at the other school graduating. The graduates at this school r rt. They r. If I were The President at this school, I wldve let it slide. U gotta know when to let things go. I wld not be surprised if this school got sued. These situations r not the same. The...
Read moreComplete TRASH!! I've been calling for TWO MONTHS now to no avail!! When I enrolled my son in A.B. Day, from MD, I took all of his documents with me from his previous school. He began acting up because he was placed in general education classes and didn't know the work. Also, being from another state, he was picked on and had to "prove himself" to the bad seeds there (fighting). It is not safe up here and PA taxes the hell out of my paycheck for education. Where are my dollars going? When I made contact with the counselor at AB Day to ask for a letter stating my son's need to attend an alternative school, her exact words were "I don't feel comfortable in signing my name to anything." (Mind you, I asked her to write a letter, so all of the words would be her own) It is the lack of care they have across the board for these children that upset me the most. These teens are killing each other and it seems okay. Yes, it starts at home, but what happens when the home is stable and an impressionable child is left in these streets to the wolves? I am trying to get my son enrolled and he has yet to be in school for the 2023-2024 school year because #1 no one wants to answer the phone at the School Board and #2 His previous school wants to give me the run around KNOWING my son will not benefit from attending there. I know they get a specific check for children with IEP's and that's all he is to them at this point... a check. I will NOT stop until each and every person is held accountable for their LACK OF ACTION regarding my child's enrollment. He needs to be in school TODAY, but I have to wait for them to get off of their tails and actually do WHAT THEY GET PAID FOR!!?? NOPE, SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN, SOON!!!...
Read moreok. i’ve been in this district for a while now and it’s been interesting. but the thing is they really don’t care for their school buildings or their students. first of all, some (most) of the school buildings are well… pretty gross and rundown! some don’t even have cafeterias or gyms, or they share a cafeteria and gym. it’s pretty sad. that’s not at all the worst thing though. parents, if your child is in eighth grade in the district and is applying to district highschools, it will be one big shitshow!! the teachers will hype it up so much… make you do so much preparation… just for you to not get ANY offers. yes that’s right, NO ACCEPTANCES! so then you’re like where tf is my kid going to highschool? if you don’t know how it works it’s a lottery system. you have to pick five schools and place them 1-5 where you want to go most to least. but guess what! it’s very likely you’re gonna get waitlisted for every. one. and also likely you wont get off any waitlists. the system is truly berserk. insanity! stress! sadness! let me tell you, the school district really doesn’t care about you or what highschool you go to. this process is damaging, confusing, and all around overwhelming. PS: some of the schools you have to audition for, make a whole portfolio for, AND an interview, won’t even let you be eligible for the lottery for no reason. SOME GRAMMAR MISTAKES? is this harvard? also did i mention the hire the rudest staff and don’t care who works for them? but seriously, if your kid is gonna apply for highschool, you should probably send them to a catholic or private school instead… or do whatever you have to do to stop this madness. as a parent i’m extremely disappointed, but what...
