The food was great, the margaritas were horrible (there's no category for drinks so that's why I'm giving food 3 stars, if not for the drinks it would be 4), service was awkward and at times rude.
Full story: Our server is young so I'm sure a part of it is due to his inexperience and that is something I can forgive and forget instantly, however the other parts were rude.
We came here for lunch and it was not busy at all - just a handful of tables with customers. At first the server didn't know the drink specials, falsely told us the happy hour has already started, after going to talk with the bartender he came back to the table with the specials, I asked about specials that I saw on a sign by the entrance that the server didn't mention and the server said they don't exist so I had to walk with the server to the entrance to show the sign to them. When we got the margaritas they were not cold, extremely sweet, and not strong at all to the point where it seemed that there was no alcohol in it at all, ended up getting a pitcher of beer for our 2nd drink.
This is an All You Can Eat place and they limit each table to 2 hours. About one hour after we got there the server started asking us if we've already ordered the last thing and this happened 2-3 times and definitely soured the mood as it seemed like we were being pushed out while we were just taking our time ordering the different things we wanted to try off the buffet menu. The final time they came back to speak to us they said that we're coming up on an hour and a half (so we still have more than half an hour to order and eat!!) so now we felt REALLY rushed and talked down to, then the server asked again if we're ready to make our final selection which came off rude again.
Still tipped 20% because it's just a kid trying to make a dollar but geez, read the room and don't rush your customers when there's still a ton of time left, I'm hoping somebody from the restaurant sees this and resolves the problem with some training that is just very basic social skills.
In the meantime I'm going to stick with going to the Philadelphia Mills location - every time I went there the service was warm, kind and helpful and the...
Read moreThe service is attentive and incredibly helpful, but what truly makes the experience special is the manager's personal touch. During our visit, Chris the manager, was a warm and welcoming presence, taking the time to check on guests and even offering expert recommendations. His enthusiasm for the food and overall experience was contagious and made us feel genuinely cared for, which is a rare find. Kpot is the ideal spot for a first date or a special celebration. The shared interactive cooking experience breaks the ice instantly, giving couples a fun activity to bond over. It's lively without being too loud, allowing for great conversation. The novelty of grilling your own food together makes for fantastic memories. The restaurant is also perfectly suited for large groups and tour packages. The "all you can eat" model is incredibly efficient for managing large parties, eliminating the complexity of individual orders and long waits. Kpot could easily become a go-to spot for tour bus drivers looking for a high quality, exciting dining option that can accommodate a large number of people quickly and with great service. It's a great alternative to a standard buffet, offering a much more upscale and memorable experience for tourists and group diners alike. It's a must visit for anyone looking for great food and a great time. And, oh yes I can't forget the bar! Full service bar with a diverse menu of drinks that perfectly complement the flavors of the food. With football season getting underway the five large screens at the bar are the perfect place to stop for a drink and watch football! With the all-you-can- eat food and the full service bar, it's a great choice for both game day and a...
Read moreI like this Kpot quite a lot. The flavor was great on the food, especially the spicy variations on the meats and seafood. The sauce station is solid, and they have a variety of sweet sauces, some kimchi, Korean fried chicken for you to grab. I felt like overall it was better than the Philadelphia Mills spot, and the design and lighting is quite nice.
The broths were pretty great as well. We had the Japanese Miso and the Spicy Sichuan ones and they were both well seasoned and flavorful. Didn't have any artificial flavor sort of taste, and the miso was similar to when I make it from scratch using miso paste, kombu, and bonito flakes. The broth was good enough to have a cup of it, and they'll top you off with extra broth as well. I would say the broths were above average for a hot pot spot.
I think the service could've been a bit better in terms of people being attentive to keeping broth topped off and for water, but besides that, all the staff were very friendly and hospitable. They take their work seriously and you can tell they enjoy the work and talking with customers about the food, which is great.
We got the lunch which excluded a few of the nicer foods, and still everything was pretty solid. The barbecue burners work very well and are adjustable so you can keep the food hot without burning it, and they swap out your barbecue tray with a clean one in between refills. In this respect it was a lot better than other hot pots I...
