There was some confusion with the number of guests for my reservation of 5 since some of my party arrived before me. Once we moved ourselves from a 4top to the only open table for 5 people (unclear why they didn't offer this solution), it took at least 15 minutes for anyone to come by the table. Even after the full party arrived 2 guests did not have a menu and it still took a long time for anyone to greet us. Once the server came around, service was fine.
Everyone seemed to enjoy their food, though... and the squid ink pasta with scallops (chefs special that day) was Delicious. I found it odd that at an Italian restaurant where spaghetti dishes are served (like mine and my friend's), there wasn't a spoon provided to twirl the spaghetti. The server wasn't around enough for me to even ask soon or even for a fair amount of time after my meal arrived, so I gave up.
I don't know if they usually only have the one server for the night on a Thursday but basically --- service was subpar but food delicious. Honestly would not recommend unless yoy see they are...
Read moreWe dined on their large patio to celebrate our anniversary. The early June weather was nice, so most people were eating on the patio, though a few ate inside. If you eat an early dinner, the sun will still be above the buildings, but L'anima has plenty of shade, so it's not a problem. FYI, it's BYOB.
We shared two appetizers and two entrees, which included tasty bronzino, shrimp, grilled octopus, tuno crudo, farro salad, and - last, but not least - squid ink tonnarelli (pasta) tuna. It was all very tasty, but our favorite had to be the squid ink pasta, which had an incredible tomato-based sauce. For more details, see the menu online.
Our server was just right: attentive, but not intrusive. He did the little things right, such as going around me to put a utensil on the left side of my placemat, rather than reaching across in front of me. He was nice.

In April, I was charged a fraudulent charge from La'amina for over $400 dollars. What was interesting about this is I had additionally fraudulent charges from there affiliated restaurant "first daughter" located in olde city. I filed a police report and have made multiple attempts to contact and receive additional information about these charges. Almost 2 months later, I have still had not receive any additional information or compensation for these charges.
