Truly enjoyed dining here. They have a ton of food options for a pho restaurant as well as liquor which, from my experience, isn't the norm at most pho establishments.
With so many options to choose from, I felt almost overwhelmed, but I am pleased to say that everything we ordered was delicious. The pops wings are a must try when dining here. The summer rolls were also a good option, and I'm not the biggest fan, but I would definitely order them again. The only item I was a little disappointed in was the pho itself. The portions of the pho were amazing, but I felt the broth lacked flavor. To me, the broth is the most important aspect of pho. If done incorrectly, it can ruin the meal.
The service was pretty great. They took our orders quickly and brought out our food in a timely manner. They checked in on us intermittently so as not to overwhelm us. I think that made us feel less pressure to hurry and finish our meal.
Overall, I do recommend this place for anyone who loves Vietnamese cuisine. I will definitely be returning...
Read moreWe made a reservation for 7:30 on a Saturday night - I called as we were running 20 mins late due to traffic and was told no problem. We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant so we tried to order quickly but when it takes 10 minutes to get two glasses of wine ….well we ordered as soon as they came. Waiter had no idea what seafood was in the stir fried egg noodles with seafood but we ordered it as well as the Clay Pot pork and beef carpaccio to start. The carpaccio was a lovely presentation but unfortunately the meat was frozen so we sent it back. Entrees we’re good but I had barely put down my fork when the waiter started clearing the table(my friend was still eating). We asked for take out container as we felt they wanted to leave (it wax 8:30). Check still had carpaccio in it so we called the waiter to remove it. Put down a credit card so we could leave as quickly as possible (they were mopping the floor around us...
Read moreI've been to La Viet three times in the last year and my feeling about it have become less positive with each one. First, he restaurant has ample seating, the menu has too much to choose from and the lighting is too bright for me.
The first time I ate dinner at La Viet I ordered Pho and was pretty happy with the bowl I was served. My only problem was finding a waiter to place my order, get more tea, and get the bill. The second time I went there I ordered Pho again. Unfortunately, it was not as good as my first bowl a few months earlier. What was the same was the difficulty getting service. The third time was our last. I tried another bowl of Pho and was truly disappointed.
I hate to say it, but given the cost of dinner at Pho, the poor service and the inconsistent quality of dishes, if you want good tasting Vietnamese food you may want to choose a...
