My girlfriends and I were here on Wednesday 11/15/17 at 11am. We ordered Crab Meat And Asparagus Soup + Ba Vị. The soups was bad with sour taste, we send it back to the kitchen. I ordered another soup Crab meat with noodles (Bánh Canh Cua), same thing broth is already gone bad. I continue on the Ba Vị plate, the coconut shrimp ball on sugar cane is ok, but the grill pork meatballs and the beef wrap is leaves were bad too. "Oh my god" that was go on in my head. How can you serving the public with that food is not well maintaining. The 2 soups were bad, now the plate with 3 types of grill is 2 out 3 is also bad 🤦🏻♀️. I am very concern of the health for the public those who step in the door 🚪 of this restaurant. 80% failure in food 🙁 A man walked over to us. He started out a loud conversation with us 3, he pointed at the Ba Vị place and said that "Your taste sour because of the Ba Vị dipping sauce! We had been serving the 2 soups to about 10 people nobody complained" He continued on back and forward with my girlfriend for 5 minutes, I stopped my girlfriends and that man. I said to him "If you pointed the finger to the Ba Vị, I am telling you right now. I tasted each individual soup before I have the Ba Vị." Then he stop and started again "I just have to let you know our soups were good." And he walked away. I said "My appetite is ruining. I am going to pay and have few words with the owner of this place even he is the owner I am not afraid of facing him." I asked to pay and told him " I need to have few words with you." Right away, he started "Well the soups, we have 10 people tasted it when they were return to the kitchen. None of us tasted it bad." Right on he had no intention to listen. I started "You guys serving your customers very poorly. We were nicely to ask and send the soups to the kitchen quietly. But you guys come back and address to us loudly in a very impolite manner and bad attitude." Then a woman from their staff started recording, I told her as pointed to the camera "Auntie, I know you are filming. So please record this clearly" He than told me "You have to listen to me." I told him "No I am no willing or have to listen to you. I am your customer and bring business in your door. This is how I got treated." He told me "If you have issue you address to the manager not that man." I told him "How could I know who is the manager? That man walked up to our table and blunt out insulting us and disturbing our meal. We come in here and eat with no intention to EAT FOR FREE. So no one in your staffs have the right to treat us that way." He then told me "I am the manager. I am the one in charge." I said to him with a laughter in my voice 🤷♀️"How can I know? I don't work here! Your restaurant need to improve on your customer service." He told me "Sign the credits card receipt and Stop talking." Remember the man that walked over to our table, while I was having that unpleasant conversation with the man at the counter, he came over and continue on harassing my 2 girlfriends and told them how wrongly we were, they were at no fault. So my girlfriend told him "Let me call the Food Health Inspection to come in and tested the food." Guess what he said to her "I challenge you!" 100% failed in customer service That gave them the score of complete 10 out of 100. More like -90 point over all. Huhmmm now you get the story of my worse experience in a restaurant. I hope you all need to be careful for your...
Read moreOVERALL staff was somewhat nice, not very attentive to my table.
Upon entering, it took them a bit to realise we wanted to be seated, even though we could see that there was staff standing by.
Our waiter was also bussing tables so I do not fault him for that, he was very generous!
Food was fine; For what we were craving it was what we needed, for the most part. I ordered veggie spring rolls and vegetable noodle soup with vegetable broth (I’m a vegetarian and have been for 9 years). When I received the spring rolls, I took one bite and set the plate aside. They tasted like fish, as if they were cooked in the same oil as fish, stored in the same place as raw fish, or just severely freezer burned, I truly could not tell. But I sent it back apologetically, stating that it tasted off, and like fish and I did not want it anymore, and my waiter was very nice about it but then said he would get it checked out, so I suppose he misunderstood that I just didn’t want the dish due to it not tasting good. Then the two other people at my table watch as the staff are poking and prodding at the dish. THEN, an angry manager (I’m assuming she was?) came back to my table yelling that the spring rolls didn’t have fish in them. I told her “I know, but they taste like fish, they taste off, and they don’t taste good so I just want to send them back, I’m sorry.” And she stared at me for a few silent seconds, then gave a very pointed “OKAY.” and rushed away. The rest of the night my table was ignored, and they kept pointing and staring at us. It was incredibly frustrating as we just wanted to try a new restaurant. And considering my table were women of colour (just three of us getting off from work near by), I felt incredibly unwelcome there due to staff etiquette in handling complaints, from my own table and from the tables around me. Some of the staff had incredibly combative responses to people saying that they weren’t enjoying a dish and sent it back.
We still left a good tip on our meal and said thank you, but we will not be coming back here AT ALL. Everyone should feel welcome eating in your restaurant, not treated differently due to skin colour and/or dissatisfaction with a dish! ESPECIALLY if it is a...
Read more1st off I had my vaccine card out but they never asked for it or looked which disturbed me considering it is the current regulation in Philadelphia.
2nd we ordered a lot of food, so the price point per person reflects the quantity of food my friend & I ordered (with extra for her to take home in addition to the numerous leftovers from what we did eat).
3rd The staff was attentive and immediately brought and accommodated whatever we asked for.
4th This was one of only 2 places open during the day & time we went. It was my first time visiting this particular Vietnamese restaurant, and though it was good, it's not my preferred spot to visit in that complex.
We ordered 2 appetizers that were tasty and I would order them again. My friend's Phó was good (per her statement) but she added extra fat and sauces to customize the broth to her liking (for anyone new to the meal, this is an entirely normal thing to do). My Special (Curry Duck Soup) had a nice spice bite for the broth but very little meat and what was in it was unfortunately dry in texture. However I would order just the broth with ramen noodles any day.
I would eat here again if it were the only place open like it had been that night--of course after we try the other place that was open and figure out which is the better of the two. Its not bad, but it did not "wow" me.
Added bonus is that they do have a bar in the restaurant. So you can have a cocktail...
