I've been here around 10-15 times. I am usually faced with one of three situations;
Terrible customer service: Rude cashier or incorrect order Under cooked or over cooked food (Still raw pizza with a doughy texture or cold, or overly cooked to the point of being crispy and tearing up my mouth) Having to go back half the time because they forgot something
There will literally be ONE other human being in the building while they're not busy, and I could order just TWO slices, and they'll forget one of them. I've had this happen several times. Absolutely unacceptable. You have to make sure you stand there and watch them put the right slice into your bag, they don't really care to remember or keep track of orders.
I don't even order over the phone anymore, they're going to mess it up and argue with you about it. I once went to try and double check I had a sub made hot and they thought I meant SPICY, so I got a spicy cold sandwich and that's not what I meant. Cashier was like a know-it-all when I asked, but sounded like an idiot correcting me on what "HOT" means. If you have cold and hot subs, and I ask for it to be HOT, then that means TEMPERATURE. So I took my food and didn't tip.
Such a low effort establishment I wouldn't even bother tipping honestly, they don't put in half the effort needed to justify tips, and the 6% charge for using a card is ridiculous. It's frustrating ordering from here. The food is cheap and filling but there's no value in that if you waste your time coming back to fix your order, or waste time trying to communicate with the employees about what you actually wanted.
All things considered... Before you even step foot in the door just lower all of your standards. Only then will you not be surprised by what happens next. And don't forget to...
Read moreIt's easy for me to find a Cheesesteak or Hoagie in Philly that I enjoy but finding a good Pizza place that sells FRESH slices, not so easy. (for me) I am very pleased to report that Zio's Brick Oven Pizza is the place that finally satisfied my pizza slice craving. I asked for 2 slices, warm but not to hot (ya know what I mean? Warm enough to eat right away but not burn the roof of my mouth hot) I got one plain because when I try a new Pizza place the plain slice has to be sampled first, if they can't produce a good plain slice then usually there isn't an hope for anything else, my second slice was sausage. The gentleman working at the counter was very friendly (not a common thing in the heart of the city) and warmed up my slices to the exact temperature I was looking for. They had ample grated cheese, hot pepper, and Oregano available if you want to add to your desire. The 1st bite was perfect! Nice crunch and perfect cheese to sauce ratio. The Sausage slice also had a great crunch and was delicious. I am very happy to have found Zio's for when I am in the mood for a fast slice. You should definitely try them out. Oh, I will be back to try their arancini. They looked great but they had to pass my pizza test first, which they did with...
Read moreWent in at lunchtime, it wasn’t busy, said hello, wasn’t greeted in return. The girl behind the register was so miserable, it looked like she was in pain just standing there. I get it, you’re goth/emo or whatever you want to call it, but a hello and smile when you’ve been greeted with such goes along way. One could say, ‘eh, their food was blah but they were nice’. I got two slices and there was a processing fee charge to use my debit. There was a sign posted about it, I missed as I was looking at the pizza while they started at me as if I was holding them up. Pizza was absolutely nothing special, dry and not worth $10.
It’s very clear, customer service has tanked whilst prices have sky-rocketed since the coavids scandemic but they want us to be ok with it, and that’s the issue. Lots of businesses are still trying to re-coup their money with increases and sneaky little fees. Pretty sure processing fees are illegal on debit cards. You’re Downton, not a whole lot of cash carrying going on so to operate a business smack dab in the middle of center city is odd. Don't get me wrong, cash is king in my book, but you have to know your audience. I don’t want to be charged extra to pay you for overpriced mediocre food served by resting you...
