We settled onto the patio for our visit, where our server, Dylan, took good care of us. We started with cocktails: • The Keepin' It Kiwi (Smirnoff vodka, kiwi, vanilla, ginger, lemon) was an instant hit. It delivered pure refreshment, evoking the feeling of sipping ice-cold lemonade on a sweltering day. The vanilla flavor came through clearly but beautifully balanced the kiwi, while a subtle hint of ginger added just a touch of warmth. Absolutely amazing. • Next was the Lavender Peach (High West double rye whiskey, lemon, lavender honey, vanilla syrup, peach bitters). Now, I have to admit, whiskey isn't typically my drink of choice. However, this rendition was surprisingly pleasant – it avoided the harshness I often associate with whiskey. That said, the lavender, peach, and vanilla notes mentioned in the description were quite muted. While enjoyable enough, it's not one I'd seek out again. • The Humphrey's Hefe delivered exactly what you want from the style: bright citrus notes, a light body, and a crisp, refreshing finish. Dylan informed us that all of their Kraft cocktails are crafted by their bartenders. On the food side: • Dylan kindly brought us a sample of the Sidewinder Fries. These uniquely shaped potato twists were interesting. While perhaps not a "must-order," the smaller pieces had a satisfying crispness, and the texture inside was perfectly fluffy. • I opted for the Cajun Grilled Chicken Sandwich, featuring jalapeno slaw, pickles, lettuce, and garlic aioli on a brioche bun. The chicken itself had a nice char from the grill, although it was cooked a bit past ideal, leading to some dryness. The jalapeno slaw offered a subtle counterpoint, and the bread-and-butter pickles (I asked for extra) added a welcome tang. The main issue was the overall dryness – the sandwich really needed more garlic aioli to balance the generous portions of chicken and brioche. We had an enjoyable time overall. The food, particularly the chicken sandwich, wasn't quite a standout. However, the cocktails were expertly crafted and truly delicious, and the patio provided a fantastic atmosphere. I'd definitely return for drinks and the ambiance, even if the food isn't the main draw. Overall Experience: 8/10

Went on a Saturday drink and stroll trip through downtown and our last stop was Barrel & Bushel. Had a pretty solid time here! Dylan, our server, was awesome—super friendly and attentive. We asked about the sidewinder fries, and he hooked us up with a sample, which was a nice touch. Also, he let us know that all of their menu cocktails are invented in house by their bartenders Drinks first: I went with the Lavender Peach with Highwest Double Rye Whiskey—it’s got lemon, lavender honey, vanilla syrup, and peach bitters. The aroma is light and refreshing, with a little bit of bitterness from the rye and bitters. It’s a great drink, but you definitely need to be into whiskey to enjoy it fully. Hubby tried the Keeping It Kiwi—Smirnoff vodka, kiwi, vanilla, ginger, and lemon. The kiwi flavor is super strong, but in a good way, and the vanilla and ginger balance it out really nicely. The smell kind of reminds you of a summer day, freshly cut grass, and a cold drink in hand. Really refreshing. I also had a Humphrey’s Hefe from Lumberyard Brewing in Flagstaff. It’s very orange-forward, kind of like a Blue Moon, and super easy to drink. Now, let’s talk food. Dylan brought us a sample of the Sidewinder Fries, and they were really good—crispy on the outside but soft inside. They’re like a mix between curly fries and potato wedges, which is awesome. We split the Cajun Grilled Chicken Sandwich with jalapeño slaw, pickles, lettuce, garlic aioli, grilled sourdough, and onion rings on the side. The chicken had a perfect char on it, and the onion rings were crispy and well-seasoned. But the sandwich itself was a bit dry. I honestly couldn’t taste the aioli, and the slaw didn’t have much dressing. The pickles were more sweet like a bread and butter style than tangy dill, which I loved, but overall, the sandwich didn’t blow me away. The atmosphere is nice—definitely a hotel bar vibe, but with a huge open patio, an outdoor-facing bar, and plenty of fans to keep things cool. I’d definitely come back to try more of the food, but the cocktails and the patio make it worth checking out.

This indoor outdoor restaurant is located on the main floor of the Hyatt Regency in the heart of Downtown Phoenix. It's a great location within walking distance of so much of downtown activities (baseball, basketball, Herberger theater, convention center, etc). We've grabbed a drink on the patio after a Dbacks game and staying the night at the Hyatt. It's always great to have a good bar restaurant in the staycation hotel. Also, I recently sat outside at the bar for lunch on a weekday before seeing a show nearby. I enjoyed an early afternoon lunch sitting at the bar watching SportsCenter highlights and soaking in the beautiful April AZ weather. The bartender smiled and greeted me right away. Food and drinks came quick. I started by sipping on a refreshing cocktail called Keepin it Kiwi (Vodka, kiwi, vanilla, ginger, lemon) and ended with a heavier cider on tap. The bartender helped me decide between two cheesy savory sandwiches by steering me towards the carnitas grilled cheese (pork, Pepperjack, fried jalapenos, chipotle aioli, sourdough). It was a delicious chill solo patio lunch before walking across the street for lunchtime theater at the Herberger.

Fantastic experience every single time I go here and being in the Hyatt Regency for 39 nights, this place I consider my home. First of all the food you must have is the street corn I get this nightly and its just good for the soul the way they make it - its also a great portion and can actually serve as a meal in itself. I recommend this and the mega pretzel to enjoy together. Because why not! The customer service is incredible and fun here too - such a magic crew! The amazing Avel was so warm and fun and welcoming and knew my Canvas wine order and pour amount as soon as I sit down. Thats cool! You make me feel like a local and I really appreciate that a lot! Josh was incredible has stellar style with the most cool golden 1970s styled frames. Tyler gave me so many recs during my time here in Phoenix and I promise to do them all. Thank you for giving me these as I had never really been to phoenix before. Charlotte rocks and is fun and kind and can handle this high volume barscape like a beast! Good job, you! was so fun too - talking about the food with him especially my favorite corn was funny and he really knows how to describe things! The Hyatt Regency is lucky to have you all - thank you for helping this Los Angelino feel like a Pheonixian! ( I promise to return the wine glass I accentually took up to my room ) Thank you everyone! Love, Barrels, Pretzels, Bushels and most...

Myself, my mother, and my daughter were attending a ballet at Symphony Hall. We should have planned our dining options a bit better, but we didn't. We tried to go to Comedor Guadalajara that we love, but there was an hour plus wait. Not even in down town. Then I thought of another place, but I know their food takes awhile. At this point, we needed to get near the the venue. Tried another place right by this one, but there was a 20+ minute wait. Well, he had just walked by this place and realized it didn't look super busy. Should have been a red flag. It being down town during a basketball game and a ballet right across the street. But, we were hungry. Needed to eat something. We went in, seated ourselves as the sign said. We did get noticed right away, and got our drink orders taken. My kid and I said we were good with our waters. My mom ordered a soda. Our server said she'd be with us when she had time..... She came back with the soda after a bit and took our order. We ordered a couple easy things to share since we were running low on time at this point. We also didn't want left overs as the car is in a garage. We ordered the Mac n cheese and the nachos. They came out in less than 5 minutes. It was oddly quick. The Mac n cheese was not even room temperature. It was just cold. And had zero flavor except some spice sprinkled on it. I've never had Mac n cheese this bland before. Even my kid who doesn't care said it was gross. I rarely need to salt my food, and this needed a lot. The nachos did have flavor but the chips were mostly soggy and this entire dish was also cold. It was also a small layer of chips for $17 which is crazy. I feel like this food was already made and waiting since they expected people with the 2 events happening. For the cost of this food, I would expect some flavor and it to not be cold like it had been sitting for 45 minutes. We get done eating and ask for our check. Our server said yes, and then disappeared for 10 minutes. The restaurant was pretty empty by then as I'm guessing most the people in there were also attending the ballet. The menu looked great. I would have loved to go back. But, that won't be happening. Much better places within...
