An update to the review posted below, I was contacted by the corporate office and they graciously sent out an apology along with a certificate in order to try them again. My wife and I went to the restaurant and did have a very good time, the food quality was very good. Corporate did say that what happened was unacceptable and again they did apologise so I have increased my rating up to the four stars. The original review is below.
My wife ordered online, there was no place to order extra fundido sauce, so she called in, told them her first and last name, and they said it would be done. She was picking up at the restaurant. When she got home, no extra sauce which is the part I like. I called in and spoke to Robert who said he is the General Manager. He told me it came in as a separate order and that it was still there. I explained to him what my wife had done. He proceeded to ARGUE with me about whose fault it was! He finally admitted it was their fault, but said to bring the food back and he would refund! Really???? I am Marriott trained in customer service, have managed multi million dollar hotels, and I would never treat a customer that way. I then said we would take our business elsewhere and he said fine! I guess we go back to Valle Luna as I recommend all of you do as they treat you with respect and take care of their customers. To have a General Manager not care about losing business, as we went there 2 to 3 times a month, is not a customer service manager! The funny part is all he had to do was apologize and maybe offer $10.00 off our next visit, or maybe even $5.00 and we would be happy, and they would then retain a customer who also buys alcohol when there. How much money are they losing for their $3.00 mistake! Apparently they have way too...
Read moreDisappointed. Our family has been going to Carlos O'Brien's since the 70s and never disappointed. My late Mom always had exciting energy when we went to Carlos O'Brien's. The past couple of years we did take out as she was unable to go. The family was ready to honor and celebrate her life. Dinner at Carlos O'Brien's! We received a nice greeting when we walked in the door. There were four adults at our party. Then we were seated at a kid's table, in my opinion. I requested extra lemon for my iced tea and as always they come through. Thanks. A smallish oval-shaped table for four adults? One side had booth seats the other side had two chairs. I was in one of the chairs and behind me, there was a path from the front door to the back and it was like an airport runway. The chips were good. The plates of food arrived timely, all good. The small table was already crowded with chips and our drinks. The table ended up being so crowded. I was kinda worried about knocking something over. The staff was attentive and checked on us and refilled chips and iced tea. Thanks. Two family members noticed allegedly there was a change in the offering in the little bit of everything plate? They missed the original offerings. The food was ok at least. If the food was ok or exceptional? I was distracted by the crowded table and concerned about knocking something over. It was a dinner to honor my Mom and to support my Dad, they were married just like...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of having lunch at Carlos O'Brian, at Norterra in North Phoenix . From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor was traditional Mexican meets Irish Pub with dark colored walls and Mexican decor. I was there for a quick lunch and opted for the tacos. The food was exceptional, with the flavors and spices perfectly balanced. The portion sizes were generous, for Ala cart tacos and the presentation was both beautiful and appetizing. The tacos were served quickly, which was perfect for my limited lunch break. The service was friendly and attentive, with the staff making sure that I had everything I needed to enjoy my meal. They even brought out a basket of warm tortilla chips and a bowl of fresh salsa to snack on while I waited for my order. I decided to sit at the bar, which was a great decision. The bar was a nice U shape, allowing for easy conversation with the bartenders and other patrons. The bartender was knowledgeable and provided excellent recommendations on drinks and food options though I settled on a soft-drink… because work. Overall, my experience at Carlos O'Brian was excellent. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine in a lively and...
