I was SO excited to try this place! My partner and I had walked past it once and were determined to go back and try it out. In the end, my impression didn't match my expectations, but I still have hope! I truly hope this message makes its way to the owners because it has incredible potential to be a dessert haven.
First, the decor is SPOT-ON for a chic, trendy shop downtown. The place was made to be Instagrammed.
There are a ton of options that all look SO enticing. In this, I think there has been a burden of choice created - we've all heard of analysis paralysis. I believe that a little conciseness in the menu would help in a lot of areas - the employees can specialize and hone their talents with a select amount of desserts and it makes it much easier for consumers to choose an option.
My main area of disappointment: the goods. I picked out the crepuccini with cookie butter and my boyfriend got the cream puffs with chocolate. Appearance/presentation was decent, but on tasting, the crepes were incredibly mid. The crepes were too thick, making them doughy and I could taste a hint of the baking powder, making them unappealing. There was SO little cookie butter sauce, leaving the crepe pieces dry. While my review may be negative, I hope it inspires a positive change because the concept is THERE, and with a few minor tweaks, this dish would've been fantastic.
The cream puffs were alright, but again, unremarkable.
I would LOVE to return if there were some changes made, and again, this spot has so...
Read moreI don’t write reviews very often. Me and a friend were exploring downtown and came across this cute little sweets shop I don’t remember seeing here before.
The entire place was extremely cozy and welcoming and they have a big menu with all kinds of fruits, chocolate, shakes, fluffy pancakes (omg the pancakes💕) and all kinds of pastry sweets covered in chocolate.
The employees were so incredibly nice, and we were offered samples while we were looking at the menus and display. The owner I’m assuming was there, and had a table of samples of various menu items he was giving out to us and the other customers, inviting people to try more, and chatted us up very politely. The pancakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and the crepe were incredible. The vibe of the owner was that of a caring grandparent that always wants to feed you. The experience was so friendly and warm I really loved it.
We ended up leaving with a Nutella Milkshake, a smoothie, and a box of chocolate covered cream puffs. (Friend actually yelled at me the next day for eating one of her leftover cream puffs they were so good) I really liked how you are able to pick what syrup or sizzle you like on your desserts and a lot of customizable options.
I will 100% be coming back to try everything else out, and I’m dragging all of my friends here with me when I can. Their desserts and chocolate and customer service in the shop is incredible. I’ll be back and have my eye on those...
Read moreDubai Chocolate Strawberry Cup – Disappointing for the Price
I had high expectations for the “Dubai chocolate strawberry cup” I purchased from Chocolate Bash, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to them. For $18, I expected something more generous and well-balanced, but instead, I was left feeling underwhelmed.
First, the portion was quite small—only six or seven strawberries at most. While I don’t mind paying a premium for quality, I expected a more substantial serving for the price. The biggest letdown, however, was the uneven distribution of ingredients. Only the top strawberries were properly coated with chocolate, pistachio cream, and kataifi, while the ones underneath were practically bare.
Another disappointment was the pistachio cream itself. I expected the vibrant green hue typically associated with pistachios, but instead, it was a light brown color, which made me question its quality and authenticity. The taste didn’t stand out either—it lacked the nutty richness I was hoping for.
If the shop had been more generous with the chocolate and pistachio cream, and if the cream had a more authentic pistachio flavor, it would have been a much more satisfying treat. Unfortunately, given the small portion size, uneven coating, and lackluster pistachio cream, I can’t say it was...
