Futuro Coffee – Where Minimalism Meets Macchiato
Stepping into Futuro felt less like walking into a coffee shop and more like entering a very chic, very curated art gallery where the coffee just happens to be exceptional. The walls are white, the furniture is angular, and the whole place screams I have a degree in design and don’t own a microwave.
The coffee? Smooth, strong, and served with surgical precision. I ordered a latte and half expected it to come with a certificate of authenticity. The environment is sterile—but in an intentional, sleek way, like they’re brewing espresso in a spaceship designed by Apple.
The staff was friendly enough (in a cool, effortless kind of way), and while they didn’t ask about my zodiac sign or favorite Radiohead album, they did make a killer cup of coffee. Everyone there looked like they walked out of a Scandinavian fashion catalog, and I—having shown up in jeans and a hoodie—felt like I had crashed a members-only museum installation.
All in all, 10/10 for the aesthetic, 9/10 for the coffee, and a humble 4/10 for my outfit. Will absolutely return, next time in monochrome and maybe...
Read moreCALL AHEAD BEFORE YOU ARRIVE!! So when this place is open it is completely outstanding and one of the best coffee shops in the state as recognized by the food and wine top coffee shops in each state list put out back in 2018, and I would always be excited for an engagement in Arizona , Stopping by here after after my engagement was finished and on the way to the airport for my flight back home. However, make sure you call before you arrive or before you take an Uber to get here. Because having worked in a coffee shop myself, I definitely know the temptation to close the doors early and either maybe the ours aren't listed correctly online? Or as we can all be tempted to cut out early.
Once again, it is one of the top shops in Arizona as noted by the food and wine list with awesome creative offerings and new takes on drinks, however, either they need to update their hours online or try to make sure you come right in the middle of their suggested hours of opening so that you don't show up and are disappointed by the doors being closed an hour early from the...
Read moreSummary: decent coffee, but with lackluster service and little care for customers. We have tried many third wave coffee shops but this one in particular was a bad experience. Go elsewhere if you’re in Phoenix.
Full: We came at 11AM on a Saturday, and there was no line. We got two simple drinks (iced matcha, hot latte) and a pastry. The tip screen begins at 20%, and there was a bit of sticker shock to see everything add up to almost $25! We were seated, and waited. Fifteen minutes pass. We gradually watched other people order and get their drinks. No worries we figure, maybe they’re waiting to get everything out at the same time. Another ten minutes pass. Okay, I’ll go ask the person up front about our order.
There was no apology. No “oh sorry, let us comp you for that”. She stared back at me and said “they’re working on it”. Five minutes later the drinks and pastry come out. The latte was fine, the matcha tasted powdery and bitter as if it had been rushed.
This was disappointing to say the least, I wouldn’t recommend this...
