Stopped by earlier this month to check it out. I was in the downtown area with my 15 month old running some errands and thought it might be fun. I really like the open layout. The variety of seating is a lot of fun and lends itself to all kinds of activity. From relaxed hangouts to more focused groupings or even working - there were quite a few people there studying, working or reading. The giant fans and building design do a great job keeping air moving so that it was comfortable and breezy even when it was over 100.
The sandwich I had from Breadwinner was absolutely delicious and the staff were very nice and helpful. I also stopped by Foxy Fruit where the staff were super friendly. They helped me select something appropriate for my baby and we enjoyed several minutes of conversation while my order was being prepared. My toddler and I both loved the smoothie.
I did not have a good experience trying to locate a highchair. I asked the staff at both restaurants I visited, talked to a security guard and spent a good amount of time wandering around looking for one. There just don't seem to be any currently. The lack of high chairs made it difficult for my toddler and I to enjoy our meal together. We ended up sitting at one of the low tables with couches. I figured the low tables would give her access to the table so she could eat while standing or sitting next to me on the couch. She was much more interested in wandering around than eating. It made for a bit of a stressful experience. I ended up scarfing my food as fast as I could so that I could leave. I didn't really get to enjoy my delicious sandwich - I just shoved it down. The smoothie was our one saving grace since we could take it with. I managed to get her to eat her lunch once we got back into the car.
I've reached out to The Churchill via social media to ask if they have plans to purchase high chairs and will post an update when I hear back.
Overall, there's a lot to like here, but I just won't be coming back with my family until they have a place for kids to sit. If I'm ever out and about without my daughter in tow, I'd definitely be game to hang out...

This was already a 5-star place in my book, but I decided to some context why after so many visits...
.. 2021-02-27 5-7pm, beyond the eclectic Roosevelt stomp sphere this lace embodies, the wonderful vendors, and kind staff. A young man cleaning tables (on a understaffed night), taking out trash, and tonight, keeping patrons from neglecting wearing their masks 😷. A small, and annoying things to patrons I’m sure. However, this person must understand beyond “just be cool, man” and “let me worry about it” that it is the businesses responsibility and duty to do so to abide by regulations to be open and stay open so that this establishment may be open and awesome.
To those that don’t take it seriously, just try to understand the game that we all must play to enjoy some parts of this life in this moment. I really appreciate seeing his effort and restraint in handling this person, and I’m sure others, but for real. Thank you to whomever hired him. Keep that person employed, he’s doing the right thing even when others are...
Read moreMy wife did not realize that a mask is required in the open air environment at the Churchill. She has asthma and therefore is mindful of wearing the mask only when required as not to Trigger an asthma attack. The bouncer/busser/mask attendant or whatever his job role was very aggressive and rude with my wife when she asked a simple question about if she needed a mask while seated. He refused to answer her question and repeatedly raised his voice toward her, saying that she was being disrespectful without letting her get a word in to explain the situation and her confusion . This was very odd and alarming for her when she was only asking in an effort to follow the requirements. He said she was being “tough” and his attitude seemed very misogynistic. I asked to speak with the manager who also did not see anything wrong with this man harassing my wife without reason. I absolutely understand the need to enforce mask requirements but there is no reason to be so aggressive and inflammatory. I am very disappointed that this is how they treat customers at...
