Loco Style Grindz BBQ, Phoenix AZ
Step aside, Phoenix BBQ joints—there’s a new grill master in town, and it’s serving up flavors that’ll have you questioning your loyalty to your usual spot. Enter Loco Style Grindz, where the only thing crazier than their name is the sheer size of their meat platters.
I mean, seriously—this plate was stacked like a Hawaiian luau on steroids. From juicy, smoky pulled pork to the crispy, charred ribs dripping with a creamy, tangy sauce that seems to be sprinkled with magic (or just a lot of mayo), it was a savory assault on the senses. You get a mound of rice to balance things out, because carbs and BBQ go together like SPF and Phoenix sunburn.
The meat was tender enough to be cut with a plastic fork, and the portion sizes? Let’s just say, if you leave hungry, you did it wrong. Each bite was an explosion of flavor—smoke, spice, and that addicting drizzle of sauce. Is it BBQ? Is it an island feast? It’s a little loco, but in the best possible way.
If you’re on a low-carb diet, don’t come here unless you’re prepared to make some exceptions. But if you’re all about big, bold flavors and aren’t afraid to get a little messy, this place will satisfy every carnivorous craving you didn’t even know you had.

Read more10/08/22 Got sick eating their food. I think it was their POG slushie. The slushie is pretty thick. I would taste soap then I would taste sweet. Thought my taste buds were getting old and decrepit. Spent the night on the porcelain crown. Dropped their rating by two stars.
It wasn't crowded, but they weren't cleaning their tables. The table next to me was pretty dirty. Kind of disappointed that their service is going downhill.
6/25/22 They moved to a new location. They are now inside AZ International Market. Love their new garlic chicken. Try the POG slushie. They still have weird hours.
Great food. Food cooked to order. I had the bbq chicken and bbq steak. Some charred bits on both bbq. Bbq steak had a piece of tough tendon. Both bbq were moist and tender. Came with rice and macaroni/potato salad.
I had their pog (passion orange guava) drink which was delicious. I believe it's homemade.
Located on the west end of the strip mall containing Ranch market. There is no signs. You walk into a courtyard where there is a open kitchen. You place your order and wait for your number to be called. There are several tables where you can eat, but they don't bus the tables so it can a little messy. Lots of...
Read moreStopped by for dinner and was blown away. Just a simple menu specializing in lunch plates. The steak was tender, juicy, and well marinated. The chicken had a char grilled flavor and was accompanied by a spicy and creamy sauce. The establishment is hidden in the west side of the infamous Ranchers Market, enter through the double swinging doors. There is a open courtyard with plenty of seating. I like the fact the kitchen is open and you can see the entire operation. This place is family owned and they were very warm and polite when they greeted my and my family. Also, be aware this place opens at 6:30 PM. They have only been open for a few months, no call-in or online ordering available as of yet. So, those who are loyal and die-hard fans of Hawaiian plate lunches, you will not be disappointed. I like to compare this to Aloha Kitchen and it was just as amazing and a God send food that brings me joy. However, the mac salad I will give the slight nod to Aloha Kitchen as more flavorful. With that being said, I cannot justify giving this restaurant any less than 5 stars. If Aloha Kitchen is #1, Local Style Grindz is #1a! Visit this place ASAP, you wont be...
