I visited on Sunday 7/20 about 9am. Sat at the counter Sahara approached immediately and was personable and informative about the menu ( I only knew her name because I asked when I was leaving....as she never gave it when greeting me...which I found a little odd (I'm in the hospitality business 43 years) My breakfast arrived in about 7 minutes which I thought was great everything looked beautiful. When I had just started to eat I had to use the bathroom....I was gone 2 or 3 minutes and came back and all my breakfast plates and coffee were GONE. Obviously to a sensible person I was far from being done eating. Is it MY responsibility to inform the server when I'm visiting the bathroom???. So I had to point out to Sahara what happened and she (half heartedly) apologized (almost as if she's holding me accountable for what happened....or that was my impression) She immediately got another breakfast started. While I was waiting for the new breakfast I sat there several minutes waiting to see if she would at least bring me a new coffee while I was waiting for the new breakfast.....finally I had to ASK for a cup of coffee..which I found a little odd.....she wasnt that busy..it's the little things that separate good from GREAT service. and when you start having to ASK for things....it's not great service.....great service is ANTICIPATING needs....well the new breakfast came in about 7 min and everything was great.....she never checked back on me (in light of what had happened I expected a checkback in 2-3 min....she didn't really inquire how everything was until I had to ASK for a refill on my coffee....once again I'm asking for things ....so overall good visit just a few moderately...
Read more2 stars only because we got a full refund. Waited a pretty long time i would say, i was referred to the egg Benedict. The waitress never checked in on us, the cups were really chipped which initially thought was dirt. And the outside chairs are a bit difficult to sit on( feels like sliding down). lastly here the pictures. Also was sat in the sun and request for the umbrella to be open, after waiting 7 minutes we simply just did ourselves(not a huge problem since i have the same type at home)
EDIT: after reviewing the reply from the manager, i am lowering my rating from a 2star to a 1 star. Not only was my meals absolutely terrible, but the manager had the audacity to blame me as a customer. Stating “we paid you, we gave you a free meal” i wouldn’t have feed this to my dog. I only tried the food and IMMEDIATELY returned it. My spouse had some avocado and part of the boiled egg bc she dislike conflict. You can go google how a egg Benedict is supposed to look, then check my picturea. What is this boiled egg? They also referred to the 7 minutes…. So to confirm i WAITED 7 minutes BEFORE I DECIDED to STOP sweating and to MANUALLY set up YOUR equipment. YOUR waitress checked in TWICE… ONCE to take the order, and once prior to that( i didn’t see the qr code on the table and didn’t realize i had to scan it) and some random brought us of the food. We understand a busy scenario, but we also been to MANY restaurants. I simply left, went down the street, to a different establishment. Had the SAME exact meal, but the small detail made the experience 100x better. I would have paid for 1 of the entries that was...
Read moreI dined here on a Wednesday morning with my family. It sits on the corner of the busy Phoenix downtown. The decor is bright and lively, while the music is a little loud. Staff was excellent and professional while being upbeat and friendly.
I personally ordered a small pomegranate juice and the Lox and Bagel. The juice is supposedly hand pressed and was very refreshing. There was a strawberry slice as a garnish. I was eagerly anticipating my meal.
I was horrified with the abomination they brought out. The toppings were stacked high. Too high. One third of it was just capers. Endless, endless capers.
I attempted to eat one bagel, but was quickly overwhelmed by an avalanche of capers. They used pickled red onions. Those in combination with the already natural saltiness of the lox overpowered any enjoyment I might have gathered. There was also too much cream cheese.
After finishing the first half, I could no longer deal with the catastrophe of capers. While I ate around 100 per bite, the rest littered the table and my plate. I had to excuse myself to the bathroom for cleanup and I asked for a box to attempt to salvage the rest of my meal later. All in all, the Lox and Bagel were not worth the $19.
On a side note, the bathroom was clean and well stocked. They have a handicap accessible stall with bars installed. However, the entry into the restaurant could use an upgrade to be more accessible.
My parents both enjoyed their choices, so I suppose this is an anomaly. Heed my warning though: do NOT order the...
