Very good & interesting restaurant providing a tasty, cook your own meat experience, As many reviewers have noted it is not for the "faint of wallet"! Would suggest 4 things to ownership / management

  1. Serve less food to begin and provide "seconds" if asked. Last night every table left a ton of food which was tossed away, In this day of food insecurity it is a crying shame to see so much go to waste, As the wait staff is highly efficient, providing less at the outset and topping up if needed would solve the problem.
  2. Bake the gratuity into the prices and clearly state "no tipping".This is a classier way of opperating (as is done in the majority of restaurants in Europe) and it would eliminate the comments / issues with the added, flat rate 20% tip added at teh end.
  3. Provide more non-cocktail drink options, via a bit more extensive beer and wine list. For example, last night there was just one beer available.
  4. Offer an additional, more spiced, sauce option. The sauce with a "kick" was actually quite tame and not fully reflective of the variety and depth of Thai based...

The staff really have that love story down pat but they lack good service and food that matches the price point they charge. Our friend from Thailand ate with us said it didn’t compare, and I agreed it really wasn’t special. The food was good but not worth the price point at all. Our server left and never came back, we had another server replace her. They also include gratuity (22%) for service that does not deserve that. Our friend was told they accommodated people with allergies but we were told a total different story when we arrived and sat down. They tried to accommodate him with some bacon and tofu on skewers but it would take 30+ minutes to get a tiny amount of food for him. It is also SUPER HOT outside and with the hot steam in your face when cooking the meat, it isn’t comfortable at all. All in all it was an experience and because we were with loved ones we mostly enjoyed one another’s company. It is simply that at the end of the day, a one time...

There’s only one other mookata spot in the States, so it’s amazing to have this food in America! The drinks were crazy good. Duck fat washed Manhattans, jasmine horchata, and khao soi cocktails were both familiar and utterly unique. Then there was the food. Firstly, I have to say to people speaking negatively of the price: you get what you pay for. I know you saw the price of the set menu when you made your reservation, so why come at all if you don’t think it’s a good value? If you want all you can eat Korean bbq, head to an all you can eat Korean bbq restaurant where you get the lowest grade of meat available unless you pay for upgrades. Anyhow, I loved the different marinated meats and would buy bottles of their nam jim if they sold them. With all the protein, veg, soup, and noodles, I left pleasantly full. Staff was fun and relaxed. One tip: parking can be crazy downtown, so I took an Uber there. I’m already...

We could not have asked for a better experience than we had tonight. Fabulous from start to finish. Everyone here went out of their way to roll out the red carpet and make sure my husband and I had the best experience. Excellent cocktails based on recommendations from the bartenders, exceptional service including a detailed tutorial of the grill from Brad and our waitress, and continued attentive service throughout our meal. Food was SO good and plenty of it. A very unique experience with quality ingredients and great favors. Truly a meal you have to experience to appreciate. The ambiance on the cozy patio was perfect for our date night. We will absolutely be coming back! Thank you all for taking such great care of us tonight!

Such an incredible place and experience. The entrance is a tad hidden but go up the alley next to Lom Wong and you'll see the entrance. The drinks available were unique and deep in flavor. They paired well with the food options. This was my group's first time experiencing Mookata and it was incredible. Not only the food, the broth, and the drinks; but the staff was extremely kind. Brad gave us an incredible introduction to Mookata as well as the history and background on Mr Baans. Derek, the bartender, was extremely helpful in picking drinks. Both of them are extremely knowledgeable in their craft and it was great to ask questions. Truly an incredible experience and I cannot recommend it enough.
