Review: Native Wings and Grill, Phoenix, AZ
Nestled in the heart of Phoenix, Native Wings and Grill offers a culinary experience that's as fiery as the Arizona sun. If you're a wing aficionado or a burger enthusiast, this place might just become your new haunt.
Wings: The wings at Native Wings and Grill are a spectacle. Glazed with a sauce that looks like it could double as a glossy magazine cover, these wings are not just for show. The meat is tender, pulling away from the bone with a satisfying ease, while the sauce packs a punch that'll make you question your spice tolerance. The accompanying celery sticks and ranch dip provide a cooling contrast, but let's be honest, you're here for the heat.
Burger and Fries: The burger, as seen in the second image, is a classic with a twist. The patty is juicy, the cheese is melted to perfection, and the bun has a delightful crispiness. Paired with curly fries that are seasoned to perfection, this combo is comfort food at its finest. The ketchup dip is a nice touch, but the fries are flavorful enough to stand alone.
Ambiance: The outdoor seating area, as depicted, is perfect for those sunny Arizona days. It's casual, inviting, and you can almost feel the laid-back vibe through the photos. The setup suggests a place where you can relax, enjoy your food, and maybe even catch a game on their screens inside.
Service: While the images don't speak to service, the casual setup hints at a friendly, no-fuss atmosphere. Expect service that's attentive but not overbearing, perfect for a relaxed meal.
Overall: Native Wings and Grill in Phoenix isn't just about the food; it's about the experience. Whether you're grabbing wings with friends or enjoying a burger solo, this spot offers a taste of local flavor with a side of good vibes. If you're in Phoenix and your taste buds are craving something bold, this is the...
Read moreI've given Native a few times at a few locations over the years. If you've been to one sports bar, you've been to them all. It's nothing special but definitely on the better end of the category.
There are a ton of wing sauce options and the best day to go is Tuesday for the 85¢ wings with drink purchase. There are about 5 or 6 kids meal main entree options which come with a side and drink for $6. My 2 year old lives off potatoes so she enjoyed a side of french fries (they also have a basket of fries that's bigger). Fries are like thicker shoe string style and come salt and peppered with a side of ketchup. I ordered a pizza as it's the only real vegetarian entree option. It's VERY cheesy so be sure to take your Lactaid beforehand, and toppings range from $1.50-3 extra depending on pizza size. We did not order any beers to make a judgement on them.
There are tables and booths. Tables have rolls of paper towels on them already which save parents from asking for extra napkins. The pizza plates I was given were weird ovals but worked I guess; it's still a plate, just didn't fit 2 slices of a large pizza easily.
Our server was okay, no real complaints. She just wasn't above and beyond and personality was flat. She'd disappear for long periods like after a drink order. Hostesses were also flat and just stood around doing nothing or watching tv. I want to see why Bill Belichick is not going to replace Josh McDaniels, too, but it's not very professional while there is a wait for tables.
Restrooms were okay. Not gross, not super dirty, so those we're wins.
My family will be back to this location. I'm not saying don't come here. I'm just saying as a vegetarian I'd only come back on a night my boyfriend craves...
Read moreThe servers were super nice, but I'm mostly eating a healthy Whole Food plant-based diet. I was there for a pre-ordered lunch in, so didn't really have any choice about the menu items and didn't really find too much to eat there that fit the bill for me. Veggie pizza was loaded with cheese oh, so if you like a lot of cheese on your pizza you'll probably really like it. I tried to eat around it and just eat the vegetables which were very good but it was tough because there was so much cheese. I've never been one for chicken wings for a lot of reasons and that was the other menu items besides three different kinds of pizza and a salad. The salad had several different dressings but all vegetable salads were topped with shredded cheese. I did enjoy the salad and just tried to eat around the cheese as much as possible and I had the balsamic dressing which tasted pretty good on it. They served me a great cup of hot tea which I totally enjoyed. I didn't ask for anything different, so I really don't know if the menu could be more accommodating. Since I've been eating healthy foods, I have a really hard time with things that are just laden with cheese, probably lots of salt, and goopy sauces oh, so it's just not the...
