IHOP — Restaurant in Phoenix

Disappointing. Server couldn't be bothered to write down our order. Missed some details - had to ask again. Pretty sure she didn't input the request for crispy hash browns. I have zero confidence she ordered the protein pancake I wanted - think I got a regular buttermilk pancake. Just dumb to not have a way to record your guests' orders. No other way to describe it!

Food was mediocre. My hash browns were gross mush, with a micro-thin layer of the crispy brownness I so wanted. The eggs were cooked to the proper level of doneness. The bacon was okay - nothing to write home about. The coffee wasn't objectionable, nor was it remarkable. My wife's chicken was gross - she ate only a bit of it. Our server couldn't be bothered to ask about our food - she came to ask if we were "okay" after we had finished eating. She never bothered to solicit any kind of feedback or I definitely would have commented about the not-well-done hash browns and I know my wife would have said that the chicken in her chicken biscuit sandwich wasn't very good. If it had been at all busy, maybe I could have understood. But there were only two other tables occupied by single individuals in the entire restaurant, so I can't really excuse the poor service.

The funny thing is, I had an unexpectedly delightful meal at IHOP in Tucson a few months ago. So, this particular IHOP at Ray Rd & I-10 just sucks. And truthfully, it's never been anything more than mediocre. Kind of surprised it has even managed to stay open all...

Today is National Pancake Day!!! Hooray! My sons and I greatly look forward to Ntl Pancake Day! It saddens me to say that dispute the amazing service, friendly servers, and generally delicious food... I feel IHop did a great disservice to their loyal employees today at this location. There was one server, one manager, and one cook available to service the dinner time crowd at this ihop. I'm used to taking a few minutes to be seated and to get a server to your table. But the scene tonight unfolded with a slurry of customers enjoying their dinner while yet more customers stood in crowded conditions waiting more than 30 mins to be sat. Not for lack of space or good service but lack of bodies to provide the service. This was followed by many customers leaving after seeing sat and waiting enormous amounts of time before their order was taken and twice again to get their food out. I give many, many kudos to the staff. Despite their very Valliant attempts to keep up tonight, it was hard to watch. Fine-tuned team of employees did ballet practically to do their limited best. It's deplorable that IHop was not prepared for this and that this staff wasn't given enough support to complete the job efficiently. I applaud the three people you have on stage tonight. Devonte, Jose, and the cook whose name is never learned did their jobs as flawlessly as possible. Providing top notch service innthebworst of the circumstances. Shame on IHop for not setting them up...

Met friends from out of town and was looking for a no-wait sit-down breakfast at 10:00 am on a Saturday. The parking lot here was busy, but we didn't see anyone waiting outside, so we took a chance.

Our experience was nothing short of exemplary.

The wait to be greeted was about 10 minutes and once it was our turn, we were seated immediately despite having a 5-person party. They only had tall tables available at the time, but that was fine for us.

Let me preface with this: this place was BUSY, and they were filled with people; we understood we would have a bit of a wait for our service.

That said, we never once felt as though we had been ignored or forgotten. Our server, Sara M, was polite, attentive, and budgeted her time like a true professional. She ensured we had everything we needed, from drink refills to condiments. We even had a few special requests at the table such as a decaf drinker and a no-lemon tea that were fulfilled flawlessly.

Our orders arrived within a perfectly acceptable timeframe (actually a little impressive considering their customer load) and were all exactly to our requests. It was fresh, hot, and it tasted great. Throughout our meal, Sara would swing by to check on us although she didn't have to do much since she'd made sure we were good on her first pass.

All in all an outstanding experience and one that makes us confident repeating in the near future. Consummate professionals...
