I wish I had grabbed the name of the manager working last night. I ordered a take out order that was rather large. On my way to pick it up, I called them to ask if I could get a few orders of lobster sauce on the side. No problem, I was told. Got there and there was a bit of confusion. They ran my gift card for a 14 dollar order before my actual order. The woman on the phone got confused and thought I was asking for another order of shrimp with lobster sauce, not just the sauce. Took a few minutes to figure out where the misunderstanding was, but we finally figured it out. Manager came over, refunded my gift card, processed it correctly. When it came to the extra order I didn't pay for, he simply stated "it's on the house. If you don't take it, I'll have to throw it away, but it's great the next day too. So no worries". Firstly, one of my biggest pet peeves is wastefulness and there's so many restaurants that would've tossed it. Secondly, I wasn't upset with the situation at all, just trying to figure it out. His candicy and humor will make me a long time customer of this location. It was very far out of my way, but I avoid old town Scottsdale at all costs, so I went to this one. He will keep me coming back. If the restaurant wishes to respond with his name or contact me with it, I will be more than happy to contact corporate to give kudos. Awesome gentleman with a great sense of humor and willingness to understand the situation at hand. I wish I couldve tipped him...
Read moreWhat has happened?! My husband ordered dinner so I wouldn’t have to cook. We were looking forward to a relaxing usually enjoyable dinner from PF Changs.
I can’t eat rice, and they were out of lo mein noodles. I ordered sweet/sour chicken which I often order when out. I’ve also had it at PFC. But, this time, I didn’t even know what it was. There were 3 small pieces of green pepper and 3 pieces of pineapple. Some red soggy ? was in it, too.
There was hardly any sauce on it, so stirred to try to get some on the chicken. I only managed to stir the very mushy coating that was onthe chicken. When I took a bite, it was full of flour! All pieces, what little chicken there was, were covered with uncooked coating, which I thought, was suppose to be crispy. But, like the few pieces of peppers and red stuff, the chicken was very soggy.
I tried to quick refry to crisp it up. All I did was cook the flour and coating that was too liquidy to stay on the meat. I gave up and threw it out. Here my husband was nice enough to order out so I didn’t have to cook. I hated to ruin a nice evening, but I couldn’t eat it.
At least the hot sour soup was good.
I know everyone is hurting due this COVID-19 ordeal. But, I am so disappointed with this experience. Biting into wet flour, almost made me lose my stomach. I guess you saved me from a few calories. I’ve lost...
Read moreWe ordered three entrees for takeout expecting the portion sizes to be consistent with what you would get eating in, especially since the price is the same. Portions are literally half the size of what one would expect at the location. Our order was delivered 20 minutes earlier than requested (not typically a bad thing but our guests weren’t due until 6pm and the food was here at 5:40). But the amount of food ($20 for a small plate of Mongolian beef is ridiculous to be sure) was entirely unsatisfactory. I mean, we’re talking flank steak here, not filet mignon. I understand that restaurants are hurting and sympathize, but we’ll never place another takeout order from this place again. We were told the Mongolian Beef was a 12 ounce portion — we weighed this and it was less than 9 ounces INCLUDING the green onions.
*Update: so, PF Changs requested more information, which I provided. Their response in order to regain my loyalty was to send me a $10 “Be Our Guest” coupon. Seriously? $10? That barely covers the $8 I was shorted on the original promise to refund the $20 for the beef that wasn’t honored. You can’t buy an appetizer for $10. These folks clearly don’t want my business. I originally gave two stars — dropping that to one for the really poor customer service handling of this. I wasn’t seeking anything but the $10 coupon...
