When my husband told me Pomo's recently opened a location at the Biltmore I had to try it. We are long time patrons of the Downtown Phoenix, Scottsdale and Gilbert Pomo's locations and have nothing, but good things to say. It is the closet to Naples pizza I have found in Arizona. So I wish I could report our dining experince was better, however it was very disappointing. We were able to make reservations for 4 on Friday night. When we arrived the first thing I noticed was a lovely outdoor dining area. It appeared there was live entertainment and thought to myself how nice and wished I requested an outdoor table. The restaurant was full and we were seated promptly at a requested booth. The restaurant is very small with a large bar in the center. Our waitress was very nice and did her best to make our visit enjoyable. You could hear the live music from outside and wish we could not, it was horrible and from the commets I heard at the tables near us we were not the only people with this opinion. We ordered a meat and cheese board, salads and of course Pizza. We waited sometime before we got our salad and was finished when our waiteress apologized about the meat and cheese board being delayed, we opted to skip the appetizer and on to the pizza. There was a commotion in the rather small kitchen and the restaurant was very smokey. The waitress told us they were having trouble with their electric pizza oven. We ordered two pizzas, the first came out under cooked and missing toppings on part of the pizza, we sent it back. The second pizza arrived and it was over cooked, but edible. The replacement for the 1st pizza was good. The waitress comped our bottle of wine due to the issues which was nice. In fairness I will mention again this is a new restaurant still working out the kinks. Also the restaurant was short staffed as most restaurants are these days. I have not given up on this restaurant, but I will wait a while...
Read moreHORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I placed an order for 7 pizzas via DoorDash from Pomo Restaurant (2× Margherita, 2× Sausage, 3× Capriccosa), what I actually received was 1 Ortolana Pizza, 2 eggplants, and a chopped salad. I placed this order for my niece's birthday party at 4 pm today. Contacted DoorDash to see if they could call the restaurant to find out if I could go in to pick up my correct order. DoorDash said they tried to call the restaurant twice, but no one answered. I asked DoorDash to provide me with a refund, they said because the order is for $162 they needed to conduct an internal investigation first before issuing a refund. That's when I decided to call Pomo directly to see if there was a possibility for me to go in and pick up the 7 pizzas. I thought, surely the 7 pizzas must be sitting there. Called Pomo, and the phone rang several times, finally, a gentleman answered the phone, I explained to him the situation, and he tells me he can't locate the order on the DoorDash portal and then asked me to please hold. That's when the supervisor by the name of Ivon, picks up the phone in a very aggressive, rude tone of voice, she proceeds to tell me that she prepared the order herself and handed it to the DoorDash. She was very unprofessional, rude, and didn't allow me to barely get a word out. processed to tell me that she did hand my 7 pizzas to the DoorDash driver and she doesn't know what happened. I would have believed her but this is the third time I have placed an order from this restaurant and experienced the same issue. Unfortunately, they have lost me as a customer, even though I love their pizza and have spent quite a bit of money over the years with this restaurant, I don't love the customer service. I hope the owner sees my review and does a better job at managing this location. It's obvious that the employees are running wild and poorly handling DoorDash orders and...
Read moreRicky and Isabelle provided exceptional service. I was surprised to see how detail oriented they both were paired with their exceptional social skills. Isabelle made me an original blackberry brandy cocktail that was fruit forward yet still booze driven and not too sweet. Ricky provided high level knowledge on their red wine selections and Ricky and Isabelle worked very well together as a team to cover all aspects of the restaurant guests needs. I was very impressed AND then the food came out. I have been obsessed with napolitano pizza for a solid 12 years after the first time I tried it and I was shocked at how perfectly cooked and well prepared their crust and sauce to topping ratio was. I had to get a Margherita, the most minimal Italian classic recipe we all know and love; the only true way to assess a pizzeria’s level of authenticity. They use double zero flour, san marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil. I was so pumped I had to ask to speak to their manager and Chuck stopped by as I congratulated him on the lovely team he had providing exceptional food, drink, and service from someone who has been to more pizzerias than I will ever admit publicly. Experiences like this are why I will never stop trying new places. I’ll be back and thanks again! Super high praise and admiration for the work...
