Booked a cabin online in February to stay in Pigeon Forge, TN from May 8-12 for a family vacation from Grand Rapids, MI. After the pandemic hit and everything was shut down and we were given stay at home orders, it was beyond our control to have to cancel. I was informed that they would refund our money minus a $30 administration fee, a $60 cancellation fee and $11.48 in taxes or they would keep all of the money we put down and use it towards a future visit. I told them that since this was a family trip and 2 of the members are health care workers, it is impossible to know if we would even be able to all take a vacation at the same time again. They offered a 3 month extension and that changed to 6 months because I informed them about my wife and son being health care workers. Then I told them I couldn't for sure plan another vacation, so they offered a 1 year extension. Everything stayed shut down and we are still on a stay at home order, so I told them I couldn't plan another vacation not knowing what was going to happen and to refund me the money. So basically, they got paid $101.48 for doing absolutely nothing except checking a computer for a reservation and online chatting a few times to explain what was in the original contract and to basically attempt to persuade us to not have to make them refund anything by offering extensions that we really couldn't guarantee to use in the future. I received a full refund for everything else we booked during that vacation (which even included tickets to a cancelled concert), but this place wouldn't budge one bit. I will not ever make a reservation with them again and if I could give them 0 stars, I would. Very disappointed in their treatment of essential healthcare workers during a world-wide pandemic that closed everything, forced us to stay home and cancelled events into next year. We really wanted to take this vacation and it is not that we just changed our minds. Our minds were changed for us. We shouldn't have had to suffer financially one...
Read moreThe pictures on the website are deceiving. They made the cabin look as though it stands alone without other cabins to close in proximity. It was more like staying in a neighborhood than for a romantic getaway. The man in the cabin across the street keep staring at us for hours when we were outdoors grilling. After it got dark we wanted to have a fire in the fire pit to roast marshmallows, but the security light only provided a few seconds of light. We didn't realize we needed to get this going while it was still light outside considering there wasn't any light provided in that area. After seeing the master bedroom ,which again in pictures looked like a normal room not a loft, we could see why there were no pictures of that bathroom. The shower was so narrow I could barely fit and move around comfortably. It was dirty and had mold on the ceiling area. The hot tub, which I ran for the instructed 15 minutes before using, still smelled of mold and the sides were slimy even though there was a note saying its cleaned after each guest. We were unable to use the gas fireplace because there was not any gas provided. The note said it would be in operation until March 31st and we stayed end of February. I called the number given, but it was not during business hours, and there was no way to contact anyone about the fireplace so we missed out on enjoying that part of our stay. This was our first trip to Tennessee. We have stayed in cabins throughout the Smokey Mountains in other states and this was our first bad experience especially for the price per night for this one. The directions were a bit confusing and said not to use GPS, but we did use it to find the office, which then helped us with the written ones. The location of this cabin "Burning Love" is close by the main road to get to all tourist activities which was the one bonus. As for the staff I did have a good experience with one call to them and a bad experience another...
Read moreThe included jacuzzi and hot tub were really nice. The bed had good pillows and sheets and provided me with a weeks worth of really good sleep.
I think the towels provided could be of better quality and more toiletries could be provided. We didn't use the stove or much of the plates but they seemed to be in good condition and plentiful, the fridge kept our leftovers cold. The shower was decent the pressure was a little subpar but got to a good hot temperature and never ran out of hot water while we were there.
The hosts were very accommodating with covid we had to move our honeymoon several times and they were able to move it around to our preference with ease. The check in process was real nice and short with only having to call in.
The view of our particular cabin wasn't the greatest because of the trees (you can't really cut them down so nothing can be changed here), but we were able to see some gorgeous sunsets on the mountains.
The location of our cabin was really close to pigeon forge without being in pigeon forge, so about as good as you can get there. When they suggest snow tires if there is snow or ice they mean it, the hill to our cabin was a pretty decent grade but the weather was beautiful for our stay so we didn't have to worry about sliding off.
Overall, the cabin (precious memories, see I made you wait for it) was amazing, some slight improvements can be made but overall it was a really good place to sleep and recoup from a day of hiking...
