I don’t normally make reviews, but this needs to be addressed. When I came in with a group of my friends, we had a reservation made about five hours beforehand. I and another showed up a little early and was ready to be seated to wait for the rest. The restaurant was completely empty save for a party in the back corner, yet when the hostess brought us to our “table,” it hadn’t even been set up yet. She shoved two tables together and called it a day. Fine, whatever. We sit down and wait for the others. Our waitress DID come and give us drinks, but it took almost 20 minutes for her to come check up on us. By that time, the rest of our party had arrived. When the lady came back, she offered everyone else drinks and asked the friend I came in with if she wanted a refill. Another 20 mins go by, and the server finally brings the drinks out, but forget’s the refill. She lets us be for another half hour, and my friend had to ask ANOTHER employee for a refill. Ten minutes after that, the chick comes back to take our orders. I understand that food takes a while to make, but we sat there for almost an hour before it came out. It was FANTASTIC, though, so it did make up for it. The server only checked up on us one other time. Again, the place was empty; only one other party had come in in all this time. Now here’s the biggest problem that made me write this review. I understand that we were a group of 6, HOWEVER, there was NOWHERE that mentioned a “mandatory gratuity with a party of six or over of 18%.” What? So we get our checks, and I read mine. Now we didn’t know about the tip thing at the time, so I tell the others not to put extra cause they already added it cause mine was a little high. For some reason, my tip was 22%. Checking everyone else’s, theirs were ALL 10%. HUH? So I ask ANOTHER waitress (not the guy that my friend asked for another drink), and SHE tells me about the tip thing. I’m a little peeved about it, but I figure whatever, fine, so I pay it. Then, when everyone gets their receipts back, I don’t get mine. Why? So as we’re leaving, I go up to the counter and ask for my receipt. Now, when they give the receipts, the first has the bill and the “mandatory gratuity,” while the second one DOESN’T have the tip on it. I ask for both, and the hostess at the stand goes to the back to get the server. The girl comes out waving her arms all around and her mouth is going but I can’t hear what she’s saying. The other is nodding along with a smirk. When she comes up, she acts all sweet that’s clearly fake and she’s kinda glaring at me over a fake smile. She’s like “I don’t know where it is; it’s gotta be somewhere!” And starts digging around. I ask if it’s in the trash, and sure enough, she looks through and finds it crumpled up. Unrolls and hands it to me and tells me “Have a nice night! Come back soon!” Yeah, no. Although the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was great, the service was highly questionable.
