Edited to add that the young gentleman told me that they could make pretty much any dish gluten-free as well! That it was not an issue.
have to admit Iām not a connoisseur of Indian food. I had it years ago, I enjoyed it, but I had someone pick the meal for me because Iām not one for a lot of of heat.
Spur of the moment - literally turned around and drove back after I passed it - stopped at Krazy Curry in Pineville.
I had heard a friend rave about it earlier this year about how it was the best flavor wise, portions, the variety, perfect heat, etc. etc.
Can I just say, wow! Itās a small place and honestly reminds me of a quiet deli. Very clean and understated.
I went around 7:30 7:45 in the evening. Sat down and asked the young gentleman to make some suggestions based on the fact that I really didnāt know what I should try.
He was absolutely spot on with everything!
Can I just tell you I am addicted to the crunchy cauliflower! Thatās my name for it. Oh my gosh, the flavor, sweet and tangy and it is really really crunchy which I personally loved. Iām not one for mushy cauliflower iām not kidding. This is different than you would imagine and itās wonderful!
I think that those chicken dumplings that I ordered were the best Iāve had anywhere, the ginger was so flavorful they were excellent!
And hello?! Where the heck has butter chicken been my entire life! That dish is just amazing. It is so creamy, so flavorful I literally couldāve eaten that over the rice and I wouldāve been happy.
He recommended that I get a mixed grill so that I can dip the meat and the butter chicken gravy. Excellent suggestion! The meats were tender and flavorful. The shrimp cooked perfectly and fresh. ļæ¼
Nothing I had was overly spicy. I believe it was a 1 & 2 and it was perfect for me.
The homemade Naan!?! I tried garlic and onion, and it was so amazing in my opinion! I love onion everything and they did a beautiful job in my opinion.
The young lady and the young man that were in the front of House, as well as the woman that brought out the food - were very gracious, polite, really appreciated the recommendations he made so that I could sample a variety of methods ingredients flavors. ļæ¼
If you havenāt been? If youāre new (or not) to Indian food? Definitely worth a visit!
I kid you not when I say I could see myself having that butter, chicken and dumplings at least...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe found this hidden gem as we were traveling through North Carolina. My Husband is South Asian with a very diverse food palate, so he knows his flavors and spices well. We found this place on google maps and decided to give it a try. My husband had Biryani, I had Mango Lamb and my mother had Mango Chicken. We all agreed that the flavors were wonderful and not heavy nor overpowering, they were just right! The meats were tender, cooked to perfection, and the portions were fair for the price. Their menu was priced well. We also appreciated that there was a good selection of dishes to choose from. We wish we could have tried more! We also had chai tea after our dinner and it was just perfect! Not too sweet, not too bland, it was not watered down at all. Definitely worth a second visit.
The atmosphere was very welcoming, the business was clean and spacious even to accommodate baby strollers and accessible needs. Thereās ample parking since it is in a plaza.
Finally, the service was great! We were able to meet the owners of the restaurant, and we could tell that the owner was cooking and putting his best effort and heart into everything that he made. The waiter was very attentive to our needs, they were quick to take our order, to bring out our meals and to pick up the dishes. We truly enjoyed our visit here. We wish we could take this little gem with us back home, but itās definitely a place that we will remember to visit when we return to North Carolina.
Regarding the 1 star reviews that we read⦠Iām not sure if they belong to a previous business owner, because they just opened this business a little over a month ago.
I would say try it for yourself, you wonāt regret it.
To the owners: Thank you for a wonderful experience all around! It really made our evening. Itās been a long time since we tried something this wonderful. We wish you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMom and pop type shop. They offer different variations of heat (mild, medium, medium +, hot, Indian hot, and Krazy hot). I like a little spice so I went with the medium + for all of the delicious meals. Mango Chicken. Absolutely delicious. I think the mango outplayed the heat. It was more on the mild side with a little kick. Came out steaming hot on a sizzling pan. Had to let it cool down a bit but I definitely hafasasfasahād my way through a bite or two. 2nd dish was lamb curry. The lamb is so good and tender it melts in your mouth. The sauce was delicious so Iām sure the chicken curry is just as good. 3rd dish was a vegetarian choice, Bhindi Masala - okra, onion, and tomato with so many seasonings you felt touched by the ancestors! I absolutely love okra and this was hitting!!! Had to get extra orders of the garlic naan for scooping (Iykyk). Finished it off with the Mango Lassie. That went down way too quick and easily. I wish you could order it by the pitcher! Itās a must try if youāre there. Before I left, they let me try a new dessert, rice pudding. I definitely hope they keep it on the menu. It was the perfect lite dessert after complaining I had āno room leftā. The only thing that wouldāve made it any better would be a touch of cinnamon on topā¦just my opinion. You get real nice portions for the price. Come prepared to eat! Overall they get 2 thumbs up. Great food. This is easily one of the best Indian spots aroundā¦especially if you like more homemade mom and pop shops over Americanized and under seasoned places. I am now a regular here. Once you try it, you will be a...
