I was sent directly over by urgent care with a note in hand showing my vitals, assessment and test results. I showed it at check in, triage and to the physician. I was never asked what current meds I was taking. I came in with very low b/p , dizziness, low o2 sats, abdominal pain..I have an extensive history with abdominal surgeries, colon resection, colostomy etc. Tried to discuss that with doctor but it was of no value as I dont think he cared. Urgent care thought it was critical for me to get to the ER immediately but once taken to 8B, I was barely there an hour. I told the doctor that the Dr at urgent care thought I had a paralytic illeus. The ER doctor made a funny face and said " what's that" then my sister had to educate him on it. Once he understood what it was he said, oh no you don't have that. You'd look bloated or pregnant. Thing is, he never looked at or much less touched my abdomen to even know what it looked like.
No one assessed me physically, no one touched me except to put EKG leads on and start the IV. Doc put his stethoscope on my abdomen but on top of 2 layers of a blanket and my gown. Like, what do you expect to hear with all those layers in the way? A machine took my bp, an IV given for dehydration and doc said you have vertigo. Called rxs to my pharmacy and sent me home. The one person that spoke more to me than anyone was the Billing lady. She was in my room longer than anyone. I felt like it was a mere money grab and shove me out the door. They wouldn't let me walk to the room because i was light headed and faint, so they used a wheelchair. But upon discharge I was told how to find my way out and had to walk. I was not feeling any better nor had my symptoms improved. My sister who is a former trauma/ flight nurse with atrium main was appalled at the lack of care and the dimissive behaviors. We sat in the parking lot mind blown at how fast I was in and out. I spent more time at Urgent care. Oh and he told me my blood work was normal, yet when i retrieved it off the portal, it showed ABNORMAL.
No one reviewed any of the paperwork I was given, no one asked me if I had any questions. Everytime I was asked to sign something it was NEVER shown to me only told me sign on this for a, b, c.. so I'm signing a signature pad but see no form I'm apparently signing. Wth is that about?
I was given a urine cup and specimen bag on my way to treatment room. Got to room. asked NA1 if I needed to provide a sample. She said it couldn't hurt. So i did. Nurse came in said there's no order for a UA but leave it in case they do. ( they didn't) Nurse went to start an IV but I told her I already had one She said oh, it's not charted... let me chart that real quick. Upon discharge she came in and said I could go. She went to leave and I asked her if i was suppose to just take these EKG leads off myself which i did. Got dressed and found my way out. Dizzy, faint and standing outside waiting for my sister. Literally felt like was going to pass out.
I came here from SC because my urgent care doc said to. I will not be back. Very disappointed in the lack of care or concern. Total waste of my time and money. And i felt like I was a total waste of theirs.
Upon leaving I knew about their upcoming birthdays, my nurse going to NP school; being 48, my NA1 graduating soon, her hours, how exhausting CPR can be. How energy drinks aren't helping her. Nurse liked my purse yada yada yada. How Atrium Pineville is going to soon be a Trauma facility. I would have far preferred someone caring about ME and listening to ME. God help the future trauma patients. You are not ready Atrium Pineville,...
Read moreI was transported to CMC/CHS/Atrium 4 years ago by ambulance for possible stroke symptoms from a migraine. My bill was over $60,000. My insurance paid all but $3300. I was seriously injured in the ER by a triage phlebotomist. My insurance was billed for treatment not performed. Thank goodness I know medical codes and what was performed on me during my stay. A week later I was sent to back to same place just for a sonogram on my leg from the Dr that I saw for a follow up. They performed numerous unnecessary tests on me and charged my insurance. I should have called my insurance company and turned them in. I called Atrium ER and spoke to RN Josh in management and asked for relief on my balance for all of my troubles and was told I would not receive help and turned into collections. I spent 3 years on the phone every week calling everyone in the company I could to find help. I was tossed around the entire company and landed at admin office where I spoke to MS Tiggs and was told the bill would be taken care of and removed from credit. Some months later I received a letter from IRS stating my earnings were being withheld bc of a delinquent bill from this company. I went to the office was refused to see Ms Tiggs and spoke to 2 girls that later sent letters stating I would have to pay the bill. They waited until after the 3 yr time frame where they couldn't be sued by me to reverse the decision of releasing me from the debt to demanding that I pay the bill. They sent letters with 2 stories combined that did not fit my case. My information has been lost so many times in a 3 year timespan that they found what they could to make me look like the guilty party. My credit is flawless and has been for 22 years until now thanks to this sorry slack negligent company. I highly encourage everyone who has a problem with this company to speak to an attorney who handles medical malpractice lawsuits. Keep notes of people's names, dates and times that you encounter or speak to. Take pictures and videos of incidents and record conversations. I took 82 pages of notes over 4 years. There is no customer service with this company. Be careful what procedures they perform on you. Ask for experienced staff and for doctors instead of PA's. You are being charged for doctors care and receiving care from PAs . Nothing against PAs because I have high respect for their position, I don't agree with being wrongly billed when I didn't ever see the doctor listed on my bill. A lot of times the ER is handled by new graduates needing experience. This is why I was injured, then told by Josh manager RN that I just had a bruise. 8 inches in diameter and 360 degree circumference from forearm to middle upper arm area a traumatic black purple injury that was so painful I had to go to urgent care a few days after released from a 3 day stay at the hospital bc I thought it was gangrene. I still have aches in this area if my arm. It will never be the same Josh! Rosensteel Fleishman, PLLC in Charlotte NC is a malpractice attorney. I Googled his name and he has five stars. People need to come forward and start suing the company and put a stop to this disastrous nightmare. How many people on all the reviews have called the number left by the management of this company and received resolution? 🤔 Notice they didn't reply to...
Read moreI waited from 7pm till 5 am in the morning to be told I need Motrin after the triage nurse gave me Vicodin, and the nurse tech told the triage nurse I have a heart problem and my blood pressure and pulse was testing very differently in each arm. The triage nurse took down all i had to say. Fast forward to 3:40 am and Dr Johnson is trying to convince me the massive accumulation of inflamed capillaries were nothing and my fibromaylgia was the cause of discomfort. I told him I have dealt with fibromaylgia for 11 years and it's well managed and this pain was spasm muscle pain, tissue tears and due to some displacement that is probably fixed itself like usual because I am not super far along in the connective tissue disorder I have but have had the same issue twice before in other ERs all which have treated me with success for the SAME EXACT PROBLEM. He went over none of my information, constantly disrupted me until I was too exhausted to deal and left. He then told my husband I needed therapy and to get off all my meds because I looked dazed at 4am.. I have been sick since I was 14 and I am now 29. He told my husband opiates weren't going to given out and this infuriated him because niether of us asked for that or any other medications. We wanted to know what was going on. Needless to say I will be having some words with the supervisor because of these very dangerous claims as follows; He said he had taken pulse manually so many times he could "ball park my blood pressure" which is highly negligent considering I have a pre existing heart condition, and he didnt manually take my pulse!!! He pulled up none of my charts or previous ER visits this year, told my husband I need cognitive behavioral therapy and to get off all my meds insulting a MD who has been practicing medicine longer than this guy has been alive, because I looked "dazed" at nearly 4am. It's not even bed side manner, I don't need you to be nice, I just need a doctor to do his job which is apparently only trauma and emergencies which is funny because to sass my husband after all of this when he asked why we waited so long for hardly any exam and just to be talked over and he said "welcome to flu season". I'd be surprised if he can keep his license to practice because that petty, better than you attitude will get someone killed. We plan to contest any charges as this was the most ill mannered, negligent, know it all I've ever seen barely clear 5'6". Biology has it's habits.
Stay far away from this hospital, I wonder how many people have suffered due to the God complex. I'd fire him if I were you CMC, that guy will eventually become a...
