The Scoop Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Pismo Beach

The employees are awful people. I asked for the large cup size and the man spoke over me saying “you want the sundae” and I said “the large size” and he proceeded to make a sundae while I said that’s not what I want! He kept pumping hot fudge on it while I told him to please stop. Finally, the lady behind the counter told him to stop and he turned around and literally slammed the cup down on the counter. He pulled out another cup and said ”what do you want?!” I was shocked. I wasn’t even sure how to react because he was very hostile and seemed almost dangerously on edge. I apologized for the misunderstanding and he angrily crammed the ice cream into the cup, stuck a spoon in it and shoved it at me without putting a top on it. My mom asked the other employee, a lady, if we could have a top for the ice cream. The lady grabbed the cup from my mom, took the spoon out and threw it across the counter. It was the most bizarre encounter I’ve had. I don’t exactly know what to make of it. It was almost frightening. You couldn’t pay us to go back there if it were the last ice cream shop...

I've been going to this ice cream parlor for the past 7 years and only until recently have I felt the need to leave a review. I understand over the years prices going up; totally understandable. However, what I don't appreciate is the rise in price for the pint ice cream ($6.50) and the lady only gives me half a cup full. This is not the first time she has done it, but first time I visually seen her. After the first time when I arrived home I was extremely disappointed, but decided to give another try in case it was a one time issue. The gentleman took my order this time and filled the pint cup completely, which I left a tip to support local business. This time I go with my family and the lady does the same thing; puts a scoop on the bottom and two on top to make it look full anf she hands it over. After letting her know it was only half full, she rolls her eyes and puts few some scoops but doesn't condense like she is supposed to. Best banana split ever - bar none. Service was excellent and so was the atmosphere. I purposely went there to see if the other reviewer was angry with the fellow patrons or if the place was really bad. My hunch was accurate and she is a prime example of people who should not write reviews. It appears she had heart burn over other patrons and not the establishment. I wonder how much business this lady has lost due to her anger over something Scoop was not responsible for? In any case Scoop Ice Cream was super yummy and worth the 2 minute walk...
