Made reservations for 2 at 6pm on a Saturday night before the opera, and stood at the entrance as directed by the very large sign on the receptionist desk. However after standing there for 10 minutes with no sign any person to seat us, we decided to walk through the restaurant to check out the seating. We passed a service alcove where 6 servers were joking it up, and went all the way back to apparently was the kitchen. Only to be told by another server we needed to go back to the receptionist desk. We stood there for another 5 minutes without help, so I walked over to the service alcove and asked if there was a receptionist on duty. One of the girls said someone would be right there. Then a young gentleman came up and seated us in the restaurant section. The lady that told me that someone would be right there turned out to be our waitress. She took our drink order, and upon returning took our dinner order. My partner wanted a regular hamburger and fries, and I ordered the bunless bacon cheese burger. But she failed to ask how we wanted them done. My partners came out well, which is what he likes; however mine was not medium! She never came back to check in with us, and refill our almost empty drink glasses. My partner was thinking of getting one of their milkshakes, but all she asked was one check or two?!! Like wth??? It's a good thing my partner was paying the bill, otherwise I would have just left a 2cent tip!! Probably never going back there... Oh, I almost forgot the best part. As we were walking out past the receptionist desk there were 7 people waiting to be seated, two on the end said "well we have waited long enough lets go somewhere else." So, this wasn't just my bad...
Read moreWe stay at the Westin often, usually getting it on Hotwire, and we actually hesitate to use the booking sometimes because of the bartender at Bill’s.
She’s been there for years and is so rude and arrogant, I can’t even describe it. She leaves the bar for long periods of time, doesn’t apologize for the wait when she comes back, doesn’t greet guests or say “thank you” when they leave, even when it’s extremely slow. She incessantly plays with her ponytail, and leans on the bar talking to regulars while ignoring hotel guests who look irritated and confused when she ignores them while they’re standing at the bar wanting to order. We’ve witnessed easily 10 people in the past few years just walk out because she didn’t acknowledge their presence after 5 or more minutes. She acts as if she owns the place and, as a small business owner, it makes me cringe that she’s literally driving customers away.
One night, late, we stopped in before heading to our room. Someone who appeared to be the manager, was mopping and cleaning behind the bar and also wouldn’t acknowledge our presence for a long time. When we asked for a drink he looked confused and said he would ask the bartender if we could have something. He honestly acted afraid of her when he obviously is supposed to be her superior. Just a weird, off-putting and unfriendly vibe at the bar. It must be better at at a table, given the solid reviews.
The limited amount of food we’ve tried wasn’t bad and the atmosphere/decor are pretty good so it’s a shame that she’s personally affecting the overall experience so greatly. The owners should consider a mystery shopping service to show them what’s happening when...
Read moreAfter a VERY long, stressful weekend selling at Anthrocon in the convention center, my artist friends and I were exhausted and looking for an experience in which we felt we were served good service (because we had been giving good service all weekend!) We were SO tired but were happy to wait the 45 minutes on a crazy busy Sunday night for a table. And I’m so glad we did!! Erin was the absolute highlight of all of the dining experiences we had this weekend (from Wednesday to Sunday!! That’s a lot of dining!) She was prompt, courteous, respectful, polite, relatable, empathetic, I mean we just loved her!! The food was pretty good, nothing beyond the standard hotel restaurant fanfare. They had a good variety of burger options and we had the queso for an appetizer (the queso was outstanding.) But far above and beyond, the service stood out more than anything. Sure the food and local craft beers were delightful but what lead me to leave a 55% tip was definitely the service. I actually hate that I’m not a local because I wont be able to get such good service where I’m from. Our drinks, meals, and apps were all prompt (despite the full, 1.5 hr Waitlist by the time we got our seats!) All of the servers and food runners and the hostesses acted like we were old friends (after an absolutely insane weekend of food service, I’m sure, that restaurant was never empty.) I’m so glad we didn’t go anywhere else and I can’t wait to come back next year to eat here again. 10/10 You WILL feel better just being here (and get some queso while you’re at it ;) ) Oh! And the prices were good. I had a burger, three beers, and an appetizer for 50$ (before my 25$ tip, tip the...
