I really enjoy Convive's spring drink menu. I think it's lovely with the roses, lavender, strawberry flavors. I decided to try the iced decaf strawberry and white chocolate mocha and two macaroons a chocolate and raspberry cheesecake one. I enjoyed everything. The strawberry flavor was prevalent in the latte and I would recommend. I really liked all the merch items and found their book selections for creatives entertaining to look at while waiting for my drink. It was pretty busy because it was a pirates home game and they are located across from the stadium. So the streets were packed. I honestly found all the ppl overwhelming, but was surprised at how quickly i was able to order and receive my drink. Baristas were really nice. Very nice location to stop by if you want to walk the along the north shore. Not alot of seating inside, but i planed to sit outside along north shore. I think the hibiscus watermelon tea sounds really good and hope to try it if I get a...
Read moreI got to Pittsburgh before I could check into my hotel, so I wandered over by the ballpark, looking for a good cafe. Convive fit the bill perfectly. The manager was incredibly warm and friendly to every customer, while making all the drinks and prepping the food herself. The seating area is not large, but I loved sitting in one of the three seats on "the bar." I had a breakfast burrito that featured sweet potatoes and a bit of avocado. With a bit of hot sauce it was zesty and delicious. I also had a salted maple latte that was out of this world! The combination of salty and sweet tastes complimented each other perfectly. And I loved the "pay it forward" feature, giving you a chance to buy a stranger a cup. With your purchase came a special sleeve so you could write a message to a person you would not meet. Unused sleeves dotted a large bulletin board, waiting to make someone's day. This offering of uplift without expectation reflects the sense of joy that...
Read moreFINALLY, an excellent coffee shop near the water in Northside. This place recently popped up on my radar as I was scouring google maps for places I hadn't walked to for coffee yet. Happily I stumbled upon it during my morning walk, and what a pleasant surprize! Lovely and bright interior, followed by a warm and professional staff is not always what I find early AM in Pittsburgh! Had a cold brew which I thought was quite excellent, though would benefit from a liquid sweeter perhaps (not saying i'm partial to Vanilla sweet creme). Still, the more of these local, foot traffic accessible places we can get the better. Shops like this really help make Pittsburgh an awesome town. I look forward to getting down here more often, and trying some more of their menu. Hope to see...
