To start this story off with an unfortunate event, me and a few of my buddies are from outa town and we came to visit a friend staying in Pittsburgh. you may be asking yourself “Trevor how in the heck does this pertain to the best burger place in town” well let me finish my story. The car we took down broke in the parking garage adjacent to the burger place. We spent 7 hours trying to fix the vehicle. After 7 hours, morale was low, phone battery’s were dead and ideas where running out. So I went in to change my and a friend’s phone where I unexpectedly ran into someone that tried helping us out early. I soon cam to realize this was the one of the owners. I explained the situation and he tried his best to lend a hand and get us the tools we needed that the business just so lucky had on hand. If it wasn’t for the owners generosity of being nice and lending a had out to someone in need we probably wouldn’t have been able to make it home . I’m not sure if any of my other friends left a review yet but without the kind generosity of the owner we would have found ourselves in a completely different situation that night. The owner had no idea who we where no idea that we where customers, he just want to help out because he saw someone in need and is a GOOD HUMAN. I’ve been to 6 country, countless states, and even more burgers places. This is UNDOUBTEDLY THE BEST BURGER IVE EVER HAD, and i truly do mean that. I can’t even enjoy the taste of some other burger places because moonlit burgers are so good. Because of this experience every time I visit Pittsburgh from now on I will make a point to come back not only because the food is the best in town but because the customer service is unbeatable. To finish my story that night after we got the car running the owner said to my buddy’s and I to “remember this when you see someone in need and remember to lend a had because a little help goes along way” I will remember that night how lucky we where to run into someone so kind for the rest of my life. For me Moonlit Burgers isn’t about the amazing 5 star burger we all crave, it’s about the people who own the place and their passion for creating a welcoming, unforgettable experience. They care about every detail, from the quality of the ingredients to the atmosphere, making you feel like part of their family every time you walk in. It’s more than just a meal. it’s a connection to a community that loves great food and good company. For what it’s worth non of my review was AI generated I’m not a very good writer but there HASN'T BEEN ANYWHERE I FELT MORE COMPELLED TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE AND LEAVE A 5...
Read moreDelicious! I have heard nothing but great things about this place since their Dormont location opened, but we never made the trek down to the South Hills to try them out. We decided to give the Uptown location some business since we live in the city. We went just after 11 AM on a Saturday. The ambiance of the place is great, and the seating areas are HUGE---between the interior and the enclosed side patio there must be seating for 200.
We were the only ones dining here at the time. The staff was very friendly. You place your order and pay at the counter, and then they give you a numbered table placard to bring to the table of your choice. They bring the food to you.
I ordered a classic Moonlit Double sans onions. My fiance ordered a classic Moonlit Single. We split an order of the Moonlit fries. Everything was cooked well, and our food arrived quickly. I never had a "smash burger" and did not know what to expect. I pictured a crumbly but thick burger, but the patties are actually razor thin and crunchy---like they are fried in peanut oil or canola oil. It was different than what I am used to but in a good way. Our fries were tasty and sloppy---just the way I like them. They are shoestring fries.
They bus your table for you. The interior was very clean, and it is decorated beautifully for the Holiday season. We work nearby and...
Read moreI have been to this location 2 times while visiting a friend who goes to Duquesne University. The food, service, and atmosphere are all 10/10 and it’s a unique sauce they put on it that makes it so special. The fries are fantastic as well. On October 13th my vehicle had a problem in a parking garage across the street from their Uptown location. One of the owners who was parked next to my vehicle very generously asked if I needed a jump. A few hours later after me and some friends had done some work to the vehicle he had come back and offered help again and we accepted. We didn’t get it fixed immediately but the kind gentleman offered us some tools and if we needed a ride to get stuff from a parts store. He never once asked us for anything in return but he took time out of his very busy (and full restaurant) and helped out 3 teenage boys who were stuck 5 hours from home. He told us some stories while we were together and told us to simply pay it forward. People like this are why this business is so incredible and will get my business anytime i’m near Pittsburgh. I cannot thank them enough for all of this and we owe him so much as we made it home safely...
