Loved this place! Perfect for a show at PPG or when staying at the Marriott. Drinks were cheap, lots of selections, and excellent bar food menu. We had a pierogi basket- wowww just awesome! So flavorful, pillowy and perfect. Dough, butter, mashed potatoes, Parmesan, and grilled onion- what else could you want! They did say they would be open after the show and were closed before 1030 but it was a Sunday so I get it! Seems awesome for football games or hockey games too.

First time at Café Fifth Ave for food and drinks before Penguins game. We got there at 1:16pm the place wasn’t to packed and our server Clara was phenomenal. She did an amazing job sending our food order to kitchen and checking on us every 8-14mins. I ordered Italian hoagie and it was delicious. Overall • Bathroom upstairs 3.5 stars • Food was 4 stars • Severs 5 stars due to short staffing they were really hustling. Thanks again!

Fantastic place to stop before a Pens game or any event at the arena. Extremely friendly atmosphere, and they were spot on with everything. They really make you feel welcomed here, and I will always stop in whether if it's just for a drink or a meal before I go to the arena. The food is also extremely good. I suggest the mozzarella sticks and especially the full wings. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Terrible. The last two times I stopped in (within the last 6 months), the experience was notable for its awfulness. On the first occasion the special was a Mediterranean pizza. I asked the waiter what was on that and he just made something up. "Ummm, tomatoes, provolone, olives." That wasn't what was on it. It was hilarious that he made something up on the spot rather than asking, but not very professional. The problem with that visit was mostly the service. Today I visited and I will not be going back. When we entered there were about 3 other tables in the restaurant which has well over 50 tables. After standing at the door for 5 minutes, someone came to seat us. Rather than taking us to any of the multitude of open tables, she told us to wait what she wiped one off. I ordered something called a "Pita Pocket." The waitress told me it was really big. She was right. It was some sort of pizza dough folded over Steak-um type meat, diced cucumbers, lettuce, and tomatoes. It wasn't awful, but if I had seen what it looked like, I wouldn't have ordered it. The waitress disappeared for 20 minutes even though she forgot to provide us with the sauce that was suppose to come with our dishes. When she did return and we got the sauces, my tzatziki sauce tasted funny and it looked like there was tapioca in it. Weird. The waitress asked if we wanted one or two checks. I was under the assumption this meant she was going to get our check. (It was our lunch hour and, therefore, we only had an hour) She disappeared for another length of time and was sporadically in close enough proximity to see we were ready to go. It is just not worth the money. The food is meh at best, the service is really bad, and it is all...

Since the new ownership, the menu items are really sub-par. Corners are quite obviously cut. The ingredients aren't as fresh as they used to be either. The first time I went since the new owner took over, I ordered a vegetarian black bean quesadilla, which has always been made for me since I don't eat meat. Typically, for the past 3 years, the quesadilla has been great and fresh. Now it's mostly canned veggies (yes, I was told this). Today, I decided to give them one more try. I ordered the El Nacho Supremo and there was nothing Supremo about the nachos, which had only about a teaspoon of supposed Nacho cheese and a whole shredded brick of provolone and cheddar cheese. The cheese was cooked so hard the chips stuck together and were nearly impossible to separate. The alleged nacho cheese was smeared on top of the hard cheese. There were 10 diced tomatoes (I counted for kicks) and a few black olives on them and nothing else. The owner told me they "ran out of onion". That's a terrible excuse to give a customer. The nachos never should have been made if you didn't have all the ingredients. He also made excuses about the reason the cheese was so hard, saying it's because the cheese they use is so expensive and they don't use nacho cheese much because it's so cheap. News flash....So is canned vegetables, Sir. I ended up sending the plate back and opting for just a glass of water. The waitresses were nice, but I don't intend on returning. It's really sad because I used to love going...

Waitress thought we were from out of town for the Penguins game. We paid cash. She left then came back 10 minutes later claiming we never tipped her and that we were causing issues. We literally bought an old couple shots and ordered $100 in alcohol. Don’t pay cash they are sooo shady. Waitress was ghetto AF. Avoid this place.

Edit: not embarrassing for me. Gave you guys over a $150 of my money. Your waitress waited till we were leaving like a coward to “confront us” about a tip. She could have been professional and just quietly asked us about any confusion on the bill because we paid her and were seated for 15minutes after she had our money. Why not say anything then ? Why loudly claim no tip and cause a scene? Why did she try to give us back our money and demand a card payment? That would even cover the bill lol. Maybe pay your waitress a livable wage so they aren’t aggressively harassing customers. Why did you (the owner) not try to talk to us. Instead you avoid eye contact and went to a corner and hid? Problematic claim also was funny. Buying folks around us shots is being a problem? You and your waitress are...
