SOUPER BOWL! This is the old school shot-and-a-beer bar that older people, perhaps of a paternal nature, told you about. What's great about a place like this is that it has actual character as compared to some manufactured approximation of what someone thinks character should look like. I know, that's a grumpy take on things, but what can I say, I'm a grumpy person. This is just a great place to have a few beers with friends and have a good time. That's not to say it's just Miller Lite and Old-Grand-Dad, they do have a few craft beers (maybe more than a few, I never even check), and a workable selection of booze, so there is something for most. I never ate here, but I do believe I've seen people eating food, so that may be something to look into. Just go there, have a nice time and tip...
Read moreThe service was just OK. The food was an embarrassment to any cook. My pulled pork nachos were a pathetic excuse for nachos (the easiest and quickest app to make). Their were chips on a small side plate with a glob of cool pulled pork in the middle covered with iceburg lettuce and cold cheese on top. Towards the end of this bad sandwich I found a hair that was not mine on the cheese. I did not send anything back as the time needed to make a concert at the Console Center was not forgiving. I would not recommend this place and will never return. Oh yeah one other thing, It wouldn't hurt to bring in a...
Read moreStopped in before seeing the fantastic game on 11/27/19 (Penguins 8 Canuks 6). We liked that it was right across the street. We dined downstairs, not realizing it had the upstairs area as well. Downstairs was a bit rundown but that's the last negative thing I can say. The servers were really nice and bent over backward to be helpful. The small space was good for bonding with fellow guests. The meal turned into a good conversation between us and the 2 other couples there. Something I love about Pittsburgh in general, the ability to make friends easy! Hubby had the wings and he liked them. I had the Yinzer wrap and I enjoyed mine as well. A great choice to stop before or after a game. Great vibe. We enjoyed ourselves! Thanks for great service, great conversation...
