UPDATE Oct 2024: Surprised ourselves by getting back here after 2 year absence. Too many great places to eat in Collin county especially burger joints. We rank this one in top tier. Again we just got the classic burger (hold mayo) and side dish of sweet potato fries. For two people the side dish is plenty. They provide a side sauce with the fries which makes them even better. Side note: traffic light being installed on Preston Road which will make it easier/safer to get to restaurant when driving north on Preston Rd. Right now you have to cross over considerable outcoming traffic to get to them from north bound lanes. Until light working drive west on Headquarters, turn right on Belleview Dr, then right on Towne Square Dr to come in from west of restaurant. Traffic light is being installed on Towne Square Dr. UPDATE May 2022. Based on the number of friends and families with small children for Sun lunch (see photos) it deserves 5 starts. Rebranded from a Grub Burger restaurant recently they still serve good food and drinks. Interior doesn't look very different under previous name (see photos). We opted for two classic burgers and one small order of sweet potato fries. The burgers are large so one doesn't need much to go with them. The small order (see photo) just right for the two of us. The shareable size was offered but it would have been too much and waste of food. UPDATE Apr 2022. Brand switch from Grub Burger to Hopdoddy Burger Bar. UPDATE Sep 2021. WOW! Its been a long time getting back here. Lots and lots of competition for one's food dollar in Collin County. I am glad we returned today as there were lots of friends and family there as well. We got there just before the rush. See new photos. Great burgers. We stuck with basic burger and sweet potato fries. Plenty of food for us. UPDATE Sep 2017 When traffic is heavy on Preston Rd it is hard to approach from south to crossover in front of oncoming southbound traffic. Suggestion: take light at Headquarters and go left (west) on Headquarters Dr for about a block. Turn right on Belleview Dr which is road behind (west) of restaurant, continue to Towne Square and turn right which will put you very close to restaurant. This route is also good when traveling east on Headquarters Dr, no need to go out onto Preston Rd. Just 3 stars for now (Oct 2016). We need to go back for repeat experience to judge if they continue good service and food. We got the basic burger each and one order of sweet potato waffle fries. Very good all around. We ate on Sun lunch and got in before the rush.

We had opportunity to try out this Craft burger bar over the weekend and they instantly catapulted into the top 3 best in the metroplex zone. Reno, one of their trainers was the first person we encountered on entering and he was upbeat, cheerful and very friendly and answered all our questions with precision. We were very impressed from the onset. We want to try virtually everything on the menu (except the veggie burger) but we understand that option for the people who do and I'm sure they would find it a cut above the rest like everything else on the menu. My wife and I both tried the Cadillac burger and it was so so so delicious. I was swooning with everybite! We also had the honey fried sweet potato fries and they were really great! We are going back this weekend to try the Roosevelt burger before it leaves the menu as they are taking off the quarterly or monthly special promotion unless it sells enough to be added to the permanent menu. (We can only hope). So they try new exotic burger and meat combinations for limited time regularly and the pics on the wall I show below are some of their recent specialty burgers they have had. Wish we would have discovered them sooner. They also have many varied delicious varieties of fries and exotic milkshakes in alcoholic and non alcoholic versions. Those are on our try next time list to! They also have a full bar with a impressive selection of liquors as well as draft beer selections. Should be sufficient for a delicious meal and a good time for anyone who gives them a try. The only area they may need to address is some more decore to add character, the design is wide open and ultra modern, but comes across slightly asture. Though I didn't come thier for interior design but for the delicious food. All the staff was super friendly and helpful. Their were several other patrons there with us. Everyone looked like they were having a very good time. This is for sure our new favorite craft burger locations to hang at. We look foward to trying more of the menu very soon. Cheers!

First time here. Get in line, so not a waitress restaurant technically. The menu was not the easiest time to go through, but the cashier did help, so that was good. Bacon burger at $12. Fry selection for one person limited to regular and sweet potato. Apparently, there were more complex options for 2 or more people. She explained that fries usually come out first. I didn't tell her either way. But 12 dollar burger , nothing comes with it. Fries are separate. Around 4.50 for individual fries. The drink was 3.50 or so. Tipping at counter sort of experience were you are presented with 18 to 22 percent or struggle to do the "other" option. I chose 20 percent in hopes that I would get good service. Well, I I got the burger first, not the fries first. Had to wait several minutes before seeing a waitress to ask about my fries. Got the feeling that having to wait until I was more than halfway through the burger should be of no issue to me. Well, I'm glad I paid that 20 percent up front, lol. Fries come out a few minutes later (I guess fries are difficult for them) . Fries were good suze, but about like hooter fries just a little harder. Burger was about 10 percent grease. It was a good size and could have been a decent burger, but again, it was greasy as hell. Waitress doesn't do much for that tip other than drop off the food and ask if you need anything right before you leave. Total was 21 before tip or 25 something with tip for burger, fries, and drink. It's not horrible, but it's certainly not a place I'll revisit for a burger at 25 dollars. You can do better. It's probably another Preston road restaurant that closes in another year, but who knows, maybe they'll turn it around.

Thoroughly unimpressed!

The place was almost empty when I stopped by, now I understand why.

I first sat down at the bar and was greeted by the young man I assume was the bartender. I was greeted but never asked for an order, the young man left and never returned.

So, I placed my order at the counter. Just a burger, fries, and iced tea. I was going to order a drink, but that didn't seem to be in the cards. Again, the place was basically empty and it took 15 minutes for a burger and fries.

The fries were pretty good. They are supposedly hand cut, and they are cut very small, which isn't a bad thing.

The burger left a lot to be desired. I'm going to assume the patty was handmade as it was falling apart on the bun. The patty was relatively small and overcooked. The bun was dry and fell apart as well. The toppings were fine, but nothing special.

There were no condiments on the table, which is fine. There was ketchup up by the drink machines but there was no salt or pepper to be found nor any mustard or other condiments. It would have been nice to have some pepper, not sure how you have a restaurant without any.

Pickles are a secret here. If you're wondering what your burger is missing this may be the answer. They do have them but only by special request.

I expected a lot more. The previous version of this restaurant, before the name change, did a better job.

All this said, the place is also very expensive for what little you get. A burger, fries, and iced tea was almost $20, actually over $20 with the tip. I'm not sure what the tip was for since I ordered at the counter, got my own drink and refills, etc. I have no issue tipping for good service, but there was no service at all.

There are a lot of really good burger places in very close proximity to this place, one of which I drove by on my way and it was completely packed, now I understand why this place was not.

I know they are a Texas company and would love to see them do good, but there are too many other much better choices in the area to settle for...
