Best shaved ice (snow cone) I have ever had in. my. entire. life. What’s so good about it? I asked the same question. First of all the ice itself is so so so smooth. It makes the consistency almost like an ice cream or sorbet!! Yes, I know it’s hard to believe but I’m being completely honest with zero exaggeration. Imagine the absolute FINEST shaved ice. Then they pack it SUPER tight into the cup. They pack it and pack it with their hands over and over to ensure you get a tight mound of ice. Then they hand it off to someone who pokes holes in the tightly packed ice so that the syrup is evenly distributed throughout the ice. This is a process of TLC y’all, no joke. After it’s all said and done, they hand over your cup and tell you with the kindest and most enthusiastic facial expression to ā€œlet them know if you want more syrup laterā€ .. like are you serious?? Even the service is amazing?? YES, it is. Ok so here are the flavors we tried. We got ube, green tea, sugar free coconut, sugar free mango, sugar free guava and sugar free pineapple. Let’s be honest, most SF flavors have an after taste and usually no one provides cool flavors in SF. So when I saw the flavors listed I was super excited but honestly didn’t expect much and wanted to honestly set the bar low so I wouldn’t get disappointed. But holy smokes you guys. The SF flavors were JUST as good as the regular ones and I would seriously just go full SF next time with no regrets. But as far as the flavors go - Ube was really nutty and true to the natural taste, green tea was super duper matcha-y and earthy, SF coconut was creamy and added a really great texture to the ice, and the rest of the SF fruity flavors were such a punch of tropical flavor .. absolutely true to the real fruits themselves. Sorry for the long review but I cannot rave enough about these guys. The workers were so so so nice and the line was like 8 people deep but moved quickly. There is plenty of parking and the restroom even had a diaper changing station. Also I always feel a little grossed out at dessert places due to the sticky floors, sticky tables and chairs, and that certain smell of floor cleaning solution. But this place had none of those and that just made the entire experience that much better - or maybe perfect is the word I’m looking for. :D I am already planning my next trip and texted all my close friends and family about this place. Yall can thank me later, too. lol HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Best shave ice in DFW! Back in 2022, my wife and I had shave ice at the Ululani’s location in Kihei on the island of Maui, and really liked it! This spring, when I drove by this Plano location and saw the Ululani’s sign, I recognized the brand and kept checking on the shop to see when it would open. I was pleased to find out that it opened this summer. We’ve gone several times since and the shave ice really is like the Hawaiian shave ice style, which is so much better than your typical snow cone. The shave ice that this place offers has a really fluffy ice with flavorful juices. Fluffy and creamy at the same time, if that’s possible. The franchise owners are also really nice too. My only suggestion is that they play more Hawaiian style music. There were a couple times when generic pop music was playing, and it didn’t really fit the ambience that I would expect for a Hawaiian shave ice place. Maybe the teenagers working at the time selected that music but it wasn’t good music. I still gave five stars, but I hope that you take this constructive criticism well for the last part of this review about the music.

THE VALUE ISN’T THERE Last time we went to Ululani’s we were in Hawaii. We were excited to visit Ululani’s Plano and relive our fond memories. What we found is that not only did they bring the recipe from Hawaii, but they also brought the prices… as if you were in the middle of the ocean, miles away from anything. While the product is certainly very good, we felt it was WAY too expensive for flavored sugar water on ice. My daughter and I had each had a kids sized shaved ice, and the bill was $21.11. Think about that… $21 for two kids serving sizes of shaved ice. To be fair, we did get a 3 second squirt of cream on the top, they call this a snowcap. Also, it took considerably longer than expected to receive the product after we ordered. We thought we could easily pop in and grab a shaved ice and be on our way. Nope, not here. We don’t recommend this place if you have a large family, if you are in a hurry, or if you expect fair value for your money - it just isn’t there. But if money isn’t a matter, and you have all the time in the world, then go for it, you’ll surely enjoy it.
