The ambience is relaxing and the employees are great, very courteous and professional. Good, non generic Greek food is hard to find around here. This place has potential but overall I was left a little disappointed. Had the octopus appetizer which was good and nicely priced, and the spanakopita was good as well.
Everything else we ordered was just ok, or not a very good value. I had the Moussaka. It tasted ok, but it was lukewarm and a bit under seasoned and the ground meat was a bit dry. Not the worst but not the best either. Maybe if I came early in the morning when it’s more fresh or during dinner rush it would have been betterZ It came with a salad which was a bit skimpy. One tiny slice of tomato, a bunch of small bottom of the package feta cheese crumbles, and one single olive on a bed of lettuce. I know salad is filler but at least hook me up with some more olives and chunkier feta. The pita it came with was chewy AND almost burnt, almost like they tried grilling bread straight out the fridge. It was also not even half a piece of pita, maybe a quarter of a pitta bread cut into a few pieces.
We also got lamb shank which tasted fine, but was also very skimpy. Looked almost like a meat lollipop. All bone with a chunk of meat on top. The green beans tasted fine but were obviously canned, the orzo was good, and the potatoes were actually great since most Greek potato’s are super sour.
All in all I wasn’t super impressed, considering I hear nothing but great things about this place. Maybe they changed cooks or coronavirus pandemic messed up their quality. For the price it just wasn’t a good value, considering I know of a similar establishment where they give you way more food, and better quality. Again this place has a nice menu, and the staff is wonderful. There is a lot of potential but I don’t see myself coming back...
Read moreMy friend decided he wanted to try Greek food so we found this place and came for dinner. I want to say that our server was great and patient with us. The place is cute and cozy. We felt very welcomed. I will say, however, that the food was a bit disappointing. Our Greek salad and Greek village salad were very good and probably our favorite course. Simple yet very well done. We also very much enjoyed the Spread Trio, for which we picked the Tzatziki, Tirokafteri, and Melintzanosalata, which were each very distinctive and delicious. Each went well with the pita breat, which were as good as all the other reviews say. We also enjoyed an order of Saganaki. It was good, but the cheese hardened very quickly and was a bit difficult to separate once it did.
Regarding the entrees, that was probably our least faborite parts. The original gyro, which one of my friends ordered, was actually very good and probably among the best I had anywhete. However, I got the grecian chicken and just felt disappointed. The flavor seemed bland and nothing struck me as special or unique about the dish. My other friend ordered the lamb shank, which I almost ordered. I have had great lamb shank elsewhere and know what I like, but my friend told me it tasted bland as well and covered in a boring tomato sauce. Felt like a shame for something with so much potential.
If I were to ever return, I think I would stick with the more widely known dishes like salads and gyro platters. I also saw great things on reviews about their desserts, which we unfortunately were not able to try, so I would love to. Some of the specials on their menu, we just didn't...
Read moreReally good food at this place and the staff is very friendly, it's a small establishment with a solid menu that is clearly run by a family that cares about the food. There's also more desserts and daily specials in the restaurant than what's displayed on the website, fwiw. Seems like a real local favorite. Cute place, good for a date night in my opinion.
I think it's worth a 5 star review, my wife was brought to this place initially by a colleague and she said the octopus and moussaka were excellent. Last night we ordered pastitsio, souvlaki, and falafel in take out boxes, and it was all very good. Maybe the pastitsio could have used a little more tomato sauce/paste in it, but not enough to really complain if you're going to judge everything on the whole, all things considered. The pita bread tastes like it's made fresh in house (phenomenal), which is one of the little things that i appreciate, and the strawberry marquise that i impulse-bought from the display case was delicious without being overly sweet. I knew it was going to be good though when I asked about them and the woman behind the counter proudly declared that she makes them herself.
A bit pricey but you get what you pay for in comparison to other options around DFW area. Will...
