Doesn't really seem like they care much anymore.
I only come here because I'm a massive fan of the Crunch Roll. It's delicious, I can't find it anywhere else. So when you ask yourself why I keep returning, it's for that dang Crunch Roll.
There was a period of time for some months where I refused to go back because I found an ANT in my salad. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm terrified of ants. And there were dead ants. In my salad.
Tonight I asked for my sushi roll to be double cut because the pieces are just too big to put in your mouth. When I got my sushi, it wasn't cut at all, I just had two sushi logs. I was a little bummed out, but I mean, I'm gonna eat it obviously. But I called the store because they should probably know so that they can be more mindful of it. (You wouldn't order a pizza and expect it to come without being cut, right?) It's an inconvenience, especially when it was specifically clarified to cut it MORE. The girl on the phone was the same one who took my order, so she knew who I was. It's pretty clear to anyone observing her, (over the phone AND in person) that she would so clearly rather be anywhere else. And honestly, I get it, I don't want to go to work either. However, it was clear she could care less, she was pretty indifferent. Instead of passively telling me that it was "in the notes" a better approach would've been "Wow, that sucks I'm so sorry, he must have been confused or there must have been a mistake." I literally don't even want anything for free. But act like you care a little bit, maybe? Just for the show, perhaps? I will say that someone called me back after my phone call with her, but his accent was very heavy and I couldn't understand a word he said, and I told him, "I'm sorry I don't understand." And he said, "Okay, thank you, bye!" I'm not sure but it could have been an attempt at resolution. Anyways, look, I get it, working sucks, serving people sucks, but there needs to be some improvement on customer service. I'll likely stop coming, I miss when Calista worked there, she...
Read moreThe good: The sushi is alright for the price. The 8 roll party platter thing is a GREAT deal for 2 people to split and get more sushi than you can eat for 15 bucks a piece. It's also one of the few oriental food places that has owners smart enough to hire native English speakers to answer the phones and take orders. Although they still seem to not trust them enough to walk more than 10 feet from the cash register. Shame.
The bad: I've ordered food here probably 20 times, and am always told my order will be ready in 10 minutes. MAYBE 15 if they're super busy. Usually I wait 25 before leaving my house, get there, and then wait 10 more for my food. Also the sushi rice isn't the best. No vinegar taste. And they put sesame seeds in it...... why??? I usually request "tell the chef to NOT put any sesame seeds on the rice" and about 80% of the time there will still be sesame seeds on the rice.
Tonight, however, I ordered my sushi platter, was told 10 minutes, waited a half hour, got there, paid and was told "we are waiting on your side of fried rice to get done", sat down to wait, and 20 minutes later realized they forgot to tell the sushi chef to even make my damn sushi. Got a refund and left. Awful organization. Here's an idea: When you get an order called in, you instantly give the order to the guy to start making it, so there's no chance of having someone forget. What an incredible revelation! I should be a...
Read moreWe received the order through DoorDash. Noticed they are using small & cheaper containers. The meat portions are literally half the size they used to be. I called and spoke with the lady who said their lunch portions are small than their dinner portions, however they have cut back on portions because the rising costs of meat.
This isn't disclosed or explained prior to ordering. The prices are the same which have always been high but the portion and quality, made it worth it. Now you want to cut back on portions, but continue to charge the same price to cotinue with your same or larger profit margins.
Not what they used to be, they aren't worth it anymore and using deceitful practices in running their business. Big no!
The containers used to be black with separate compartments. Now they are just white Styrofoam containers without compartments because otherwise, the compartments would reflect just how little meat you are getting.
The fact that you guys are serving smaller portions, because of the rising cost wasn't addressed, of course.
Two days later, with a response, to bring it back for a refund as if I just have four meals sitting around,...
