"Only one disappointment per table"
I normally have lunch at Wasabi with my friend and my sister and I've never had a problem with their coupon policy. However, I recently had a HORRIBLE experience on my birthday. I wanted hibachi for my birthday, and remembered that I had a wasabi coupon for a buy one get one free hibachi dinner. So, that night my boyfriend, my sister, my sister's boyfriend and I went to hibachi. There were two other women and the 4 of us at the table. The waiter, Mr. Jackie, asked us what we wanted to drink, and did not write the orders down. As he was walking away, he repeated the wrong drink orders back to us twice. We told him a total of FOUR times, and had to still ask us what they were as he set them down. We were starving, so I ordered an appetizer, he left and took forever to come back. He then proceeded to ask who was on which check. Though there were four people in our party, we had two separate checks. I checked the coupon prior to coming to wasabi and it says one coupon per day per person. My boyfriend and I ordered and showed him the coupon. My sister and boyfriend ordered their meals and showed him the coupon. Mr. Jackie proceeded to tell us that we could not use our coupon. We explained that we were on separate checks, he follows this with "You all know each other, so you all cannot use two coupons! Only one coupon per table!" I BOUGHT the plant city 2016 coupon book in order to get these coupons, which if I'm not mistaken, are meant to draw business into plant city restaurants. Immediately, I requested that I pay for the appetizer and leave. The appetizer still was not out, so I asked him to cancel our orders. He then says "okay, so you're going to pay for those right?" Talking about the drinks that had just made it to our table. I told him "no, I'm not paying for anything, I took one sip of that drink" He then went to his manager to "see if we could do anything" that's right, after my entire party got up and left. They did not care that we left. They do not appreciate your business, and this is coming from a regular customer. I will not be coming back here, and I've told everyone I know about this. Had the coupon said "one coupon per table", or "one coupon per party" this entire event would have been avoided. Wasabi's rule of "you know each other, so only one coupon" is ridiculous. We went to Smoking Aces instead, they were really nice, and gave me the best dessert ever for my birthday. Smoking Aces greatly appreciated our business. Go where you're...
Read more"I have never been more disrespected at a restaurant". Last night was my first and last experience with Wasabi restaurant. My meal was : A small hot Saki that wasn't very good A roll of sushi that was very bland And steak and shrimp hibachi, cooked medium rare. I am usually an easy person to please at a restaurant but my experience was awful. My steak came out completely rare, just a bit seared. I think the cook saw the look on my face and I agreed when he asked if I needed it cooked more . After he put it back on the grill he disappeared and someone else came to finish (not sure where he went). I had already eaten most of my meal by the time my steak came out and I just figured I would get a to-go box for the rest . As they were cleaning up a customer from the opposite side of the table asked my if my steak also tasted funny and I tasted mine and it was horrible. The steak had clearly gone bad, I couldn't believe they were serving this. The GM (Franky Fu I believe) came to our table, we voiced our complaint and he walked away promptly, returning moments later letting us know there wasn't any problems in the kitchen. While discrediting what we had to say, he refused to taste or accept there was anything wrong. Well, frankly Franky that doesn't change the fact you served us bad food. Neither of us two strangers at this table ate our steak, yet he was sitting there basically calling us liars, still stating was nothing wrong. We weren't going to sit their and argue with the restaurants manager in the middle of the dining room so we just asked if he could take care of our checks ( like any restaurant would) and we be on our way... but when they came out, everything was still full price. I already was angry from him disrespectfully arguing with a customer, so I just paid the bill and left. As I was walking out the door he said "come back and see us" and I responded "not a chance in hell" as this I'm walking out the door. This is the part I couldn't believe. HE FOLLOWED ME OUTSIDE!!! Not to talk, but to yell and curse at me. The GM followed me to my car arguing the entire time, until I had gotten in and drove off. I was seriously in disbelief. I have never been so disrespected by a restaurant or service based business that relies on customer service for a returning patronage. I strongly urge you to go elsewhere for food, especially if you don't want your night ruined by the general manager cussing you out as you drive away ....
Read moreMy sister and I plus our four kids ages 1-10 had went in today for lunch we always come here we love the food. However today we had the worst experience and felt so unwelcome. From the moment we had walked in we felt like the waitress was giving us dirty looks I had asked her for a high chair she brings one out for me, unfortunately the straps was broken on that one so I asked for another one if not my son would try to climb out. Then I felt like it went down hill from there. Anyways her name was Diana she comes back takes our order we had order two steak hibachi’s for the kids and us sushi rolls. She brings out glass plates and plastic spoons for the kids we had asked her politely if we can have plastic plates and forks for the kids since there’s no way they can eat steak and noodles with a plastic spoon. I’m guessing she didn’t like that my oldest son had asked for teriyaki sauce and she didn’t even say anything and just walked away she did bring it for him, however she was so quick to walk away we didn’t even had time to ask her for anything so when she comes back I had asked her for to plates for us adults and she was like you said you want plastic now you want glass. So I explained to her the plastic plates where for the kids and we would like to have regular plates. She clearly was talking bad about us because we seen the staff look over at us like we where doing something wrong. After that she never came back to check up on us she had sent another server over to refill our drinks and bring us are checks. So I’m mind blown that she was a perfect server for a party of 24 when she couldn’t even handle two adults and kids and the place wasn’t busy at all it’s was at 11:00 am. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable at a restaurant before her customer service was horrible and I work in the industry and I would never make a customer feel the way she made us feel. She was just very rude and very unprofessional her alone makes me not want to...
