Got to tell you, this was a welcome change and surprise. My wife and I had intended to have lunch at a different location, but that did not work out. So Duke's Brewhouse was just a couple doors down, and in we went. Seating was seat yourself, and just as soon as we sat down, our server came over, welcomed us, and took our drink orders. We were ready to order when she returned. My wife and I talked a while and checked out the restaurant. Lots of sports of various venues were playing on a couple dozen large screens, and there was a bunch of Tampa Bay Buc's memorabilia all over the place. I never could tell they are Buc's fans Our appetizer was good, Southwest egg rolls followed by our 1940's Patty Melts & fries. I can not remember the last time I had a Patty Melt, but seeing it on the menu made my wife's and my mind up. When our lunch arrived, I first noticed that the bread was toasted without burning anywhere. Juicy and rich is putting it mildly. The onions were caramelized and very sweet. The biggest surprise was that there was no grease or excessive oil in the sandwich. The juice was true meat juice, and the onions tasted like they had been sautéed in real butter, this was a really good Patty Melt. Our server was very tentative, having come by to check on us 3 or 4 times. Refilled our drinks without us asking and at the end of our meal brought us the check and cleared the table. She took care of cashing us out, and we were ready to go, no fuss - no muss. I left our server a nice tip and thanked her for the great service. Just note that the female servers wear Daisy Duke shorts and a complimentary short shirt, thus the name "Duke's Brewhouse." So, don't be surprised if your girlfriend, wife, or significant other keeps watching you to see where you are looking...
As I like to remind my readers and followers, be courteous when dining, use your fork, and be sure to tip your server well for providing...
Read moreI visited the Plant City location today(8/30/17). I sat myself up front by the window. I sat there for 10 to 15mins. The business only had about 20 customers and I seen at least 6 waitress on the floor. As I waited for someone to acknowledge me. Four more customers came in and 3 waitress was on the spot to get their orders. During this time the 2 bartenders and a gentleman wearing a black shirt(I believe was a management) was at a table 20 feet from me. They were into hugging and chatting with customers at that table. I made eye contact with one of the bartenders but nothing. Needless to say I got up and left the business. I was really disappointed since I was wanting wings. I did call and spoke with Paul(General Manager). I explained all that happened. He told me that its hard to manage a bunch of 19 - 20 year old females. He offer to make it up to me but I wasnt going back into his business. Instead I made the drive to Tampa and gave business to Ker's WIngs House. Since I was wanting wings.
I do have a suggestion for Paul and his Plant City location. Train your waitress to take care of ALL CUSTOMERS! Maybe instead of having a sign of customers seat themselves. Have someone stationed there to sit and notified wait staff of new customers. Another suggestion is the Management walk the floor and check with customers. To see how their experience is going. You may gain more customers and I may give you guys another chance to gain my business. Thank you and I...
Read moreI came here last night with a friend. I've never been here and it wasn't our first choice, but it became our only choice as it was almost 10pm on a Sunday night, so I figured it would be a good time to give this place a try. My friend and I ordered our meals, and it took an hour, minimum, to receive it. There were about 3 tables (occupied by 3 or less people each) and 2 people at the bar, so being busy wouldn't have been the excuse. There was a kitchen employee that was constantly coming out of the kitchen and just standing around with his eyes glued to his phone. The female servers were also keeping themselves entertained with one another...sitting at various booths throughout. When we finally did receive our food it was lukewarm. I had the BBQ flatbread, which was very different from what I was expecting. Large chunks of chicken and small zigzags of BBQ sauce over it. There was more sauce on the plate, including the sides of the plate than there was on the flatbread, and I was constantly getting the sauce all over my hands. If I wanted BBQ sauce on my hands, I would have ordered ribs, wings or some other kind of finger food. My friends burger turned out fine, not including what looked to me like old, reheated, shriveled up Duke's fries. Everything else was about average. Duke's Brewhouse is not a place that I would recommend to others, and I probably will look a little bit harder for a restaurant the next time I find myself looking for a place that...
