Generally I like this theater but highly recommend not buying specialty items as the employees are not on the same page.
Short story, I was told 4 different things by 3 different employees regarding their refill "policy" and even though we will eventually go back since it's only movie theater in Plant City, it won't be for awhile.
Long story below.
Came here about a month ago to watch Garfield and at the time they were selling buckets that looked like him. Had not planned to buy one as I usually get my kid the kid's pack since it comes with a drink/gummy/popcorn for $6.99. However, the cashier said it would include free refills during summer movies. I asked TWICE to confirm that there was no charge for refills and he said no. So went ahead and splurged on the $20ish bucket because of the "policy" I was told.
Went today and brought the Garfield because was going to be the only summer movie we'd have a chance to see and wanted to take advantage of the reason we bought it. The ticket taker heard my daughter telling her friend that since we bought the bucket we got a free refill and the boy said "actually you have to pay the FULL price of a bucket at the concession stand to refill it. " I told him that's not what I was told when I bought it and asked if there was at least a refill price and he said no, full price is the "policy."
I will admit at this point I should have talked to manager to clarify but was so frustrated that he was telling me I would have to pay full $20ish price again that I said forget it and went into the movie.
About 30 mins later my kid asked for popcorn and I just went and filled it up (again I recognize I should have talked to a manager but was annoyed, felt cheated/lied to, and didn't make a good choice in that moment). No one said anything and I went back into the movie.
When the movie was over and I walked out, the ticket taker, the manager, and a third employee corralled around me, and the manager said that she was told of the situation and that in future I needed to pay the price of a small to refill it. I was flustered at whole situation, especially because felt embarrassed at being corralled in front of my group of 7 and said I didn't plan to bring it back at all since kid pack is less than a small popcorn.
Then the manager said "so go ahead and pay and we'll call it square." Since she'd just said in future I was confused and asked if she was making me pay this time and not going to honor what her employee had told me upon original purchase. Nope. So I paid the $7.75 plus tax for small popcorn.
Then I asked if I bought a kid pack (again $6.99 and includes a drink and gummy) would I be able to refill it. Answer, Yes. And even though I had said I usually buy a kid pack they'd just made me pay for a small popcorn which costs more than the kid pack so was more flustered and asked if I could at least get a drink that normally comes with the kid pack.
Manager told me just this once but in future I had to pay for a kid pack upon arrival to get drink and to fill the popcorn bucket. So 4th "policy"
Trust me, I get it now, just wish this had been communicated up front upon original purchase (who said free summer refills) or by the ticket taker today (who said full bucket price refill) or even the manager first time (small popcorn price to refill).
Manager wasn't rude in tone or anything, but good grief, get everyone on same page of whatever your actual...
Read moreMy family and I arrived excited to see the new Boss Baby movie. We were met with really nice staff. After getting our snacks we headed to our seats and got comfy. Our movie was set to start at 1pm. If you look at the picture I attached you will see the timestamp says 1:44pm. I left the auditorium and informed an usher that we were in Theatre 7 and our movie hadn’t started. She replied “okay, I’ll let her know.” I said “it’s 1:45pm and it was scheduled to start at 1p” and she says “ok” (in kind of an off putting manner). About 5 mins pass and the same young lady enters the theater and says “we will have to refund you guys and you’ll have to come back for another viewing because the movie had been pushed so far back that it would run into the next showing” I asked for the manager. The manager sent another young guy over to my family and he hands me a rewards card. I ask to speak to the manager and he escorts me to her. I ask her to help me understand how this happened and she said “the usher forgot to start the movie so we will refund you your tickets.” She issued the refund and offered for family to sit in on the movie that started 20 mins prior to which we declined. This experience was frustrating for my children and honestly for myself as well because if I hadn’t gone to inquire about the movie starting, the staff never...
Read moreIn order to truly enjoy a movie experience now a days you have to plan accordingly. It's been a while and I was truly excited to watch a movie after Covid and super excited to see what changes were made to this oldie but goodie. The inside is totally revamped with a small pub style bar where you can enjoy an adult beverage or two. They have expanded their menu, but I would stay away from the pizza, taste like frozen not fresh. Ordered chicken wings, not bad at all, just ask for extra sauce. Seating is spacious, although it lacks a certain degree of recline ability, even at it's furthest you still feel like you sitting up. This is probably do to the degree of the floor to create stadium seating affect. That can all be forgiven because of the prices of the tickets, not as expensive as going to AMC. I recommend going to the matinee and saving some coin. This is a nice theater with a small town feel, definitely going again. Enjoy the auto refill popcorn, all types of soda, and a good movie.
Pro-tip....go early, sit in the middle, checkout the photos I posted of seating level so you can get an idea of the seating height.
Please give a like if this has helped you...
