Lake Walden Square — Local services in Plant City

We where here for dinner at Wasabi Japanese steak house and sushi. I have eaten here many times before and had exceptional things to Say about this restaurant. I can't say the same thing for this visit. The service was not like it use to be, the server did not once come to refill any drinks for anyone eating at the hibachi table. The social distancing was totally fine but I didn't expect my server to ghost my table completely. The food was as good as always and the chef who cooked for us did what he could to put on a show for the group, but it wasn't the same as it was once before. The sushi was good but I noticed every roll broke apart while I was trying to pick it up with chop sticks. My wife and son had the same issues. No more brewed sweet tea? Its now a mix of brewed sweet tea and green tea which is no where close to as good as sweet tea is from a southern stand point. I would not completely say it was a bad experience but the service was lacking and food is only so good. The gift coupons given to come back for my next visit after I spend a certain amount of money won't be worth it either. When you spend 150+ for dinner for 3 people you kinda expect it to be exceptional and as good as it was before. Blame it on COVID for poor service and a lack of exceptional quality. We eat at Popeyes quite often since they have the best chicken next to Maryland Fried Chicken and we love the Popeye's chicken sandwich. When we go there it was always drive thru and since the covid hit it was drive thru only which is fine,the problem we started having out of the blue was it was cash only which we thought maybe there was issues with the credit card reader or something along those lines. We figured it'd only be a few times but it was every time we went to this particular store,we had been to other stores and they accepted cash or credit,we got to talking and thought it odd that a franchise restaurant like Popeyes only was taking cash. We had talked and come to a very logical conclusion which i will keep to myself because it does not paint a very good picture of what had been going on for many months in regards to the "Cash only" at this Popeyes. Well about 3 months ago all of the sudden they are now taking cash or credit, i think there was some pilfering going on and they got caught or something like that. Friendly staff. The line did move quickly and my order was ready in just a few min. A general comment it appears Popeye's has made there sides a bit smaller then in the past and the red beans and rice seen to taste different. I would have preferred they kept the sizes the same and charged a little more then making them smaller. Popeye's still has some of the best fried chicken around and the best chicken sandwich so ill continue to come back again. Give them a try and I'm sure you will...
