My boyfriend and I travelled into town for the weekend and decided to try Raising Canes since we don’t have one near where we live [Michigan].

For starters, the service was fantastic! There were two long lines in the drive thru, so my boyfriend and I opted to go inside. We walked in and almost immediately got helped, even if there were people in line. The cashier was very kind and helpful!

However, I don’t think it lives up to its hype. We both ordered the 4 finger box combo, but found out they were out of coleslaw, which was something we both wanted to try. We were told we could sub out the coleslaw for extra fries or sauce. I got extra fries, he got extra sauce. They only give you one small sauce for four chicken tenders and fries, and if you want more, they charge you almost 50 cents. I’m used to fast food places giving you at least two sauces for free, but whatever I guess.

The food itself was good, but again, didn’t live up to its hype. The chicken tenders were good and fresh with not too much breading, but they were a little bigger than the size of my thumb. The french fries were nothing other than regular crinkle cut fries as well as the bread being similar to Hawaiian bread, but also good. The Canes sauce wasn’t bad, but just tasted like mayo and ketchup mixed together — it wasn’t what everyone raves about. If you’re located near a Bojangles or Culver’s, I would suggest going...

Checked this place out to see what all the hooplah was about. It's just chicken strips and fries. And their sauce. Tldr? It's alright - slightly above average chicken fingers and fries in a fast food setting served by teenagers and young adults from the south hills.

Sweet tea is good. I think better than McDonald's sweet tea if only because it's not as super sickly sweet. It's sweet but not diabetes in a cup.

The fries were my favorite part of the meal. Crinkle cut, cooked crispy AF and salty. My kiddo enjoyed the garlic toast the most. I also enjoyed the toast while dunked in the signature Cane sauce. The toast was good plain too. Salty and kinda garlicky on one side.

The sauce. Tastes like mayo and ketchup with some BBQ seasoning mixed in. I definitely don't understand what the fuss is all about.

Same deal with the chicken strips. Which is their signature dish right? Just basic fast food chicken strips. Full chicken breast, deep fried well. The breading was not completely attached to the chicken on two of my pieces. Whatever.

It was pretty good. Again don't see what the huge fuss is about the sauce. Also since it is literally just chicken strips and fries, the whole table needs to buy in that everyone is just eating chicken strips or someone's going to be displeased with the...

I heard alot of hype about Raising Cane's from people I know all over this country and for the first time I tried it yesterday here in Pennsylvania. It was okay but I was thrown off by the small serving of coleslaw and the bread toasted on one side with chicken tenders to greasy. I'm not sure if every location is this way in all states but personally when I worked in restaurants and fast food businesses I made the customers food they way I'd like to be treated and served with love and care. It made customers come back even more especially when I was on shift with my team and they complimented about us all over and people would come from all over to meet my team and I and thank us for such great service and food. Managers sometimes gave us a mouth full and customers would stick up for us and say pay them no attention keep up the great work and great tips surely followed. Tips are acceptable in restaurant business but its against policy in fast food but customers said screw it if you have to deal with inconsiderate managers you deserve a little extra. Just saying, the organization and business could step it up or am I being to...

There has been a lot of hype about Cane's coming to our area and I was excited to try it! However I was vastly underwhelmed. You can't order a lot on its own, such as you can't get a set of chicken tenders or just a sandwich. You must order a basket for a meal. The employees were fast and kind, they were the highlight of our trip. The food was not as good as I expected. For them being known for their chicken and sauce it wasn't anything exciting. The chicken wasn't anything special, a bit for a crunchier breading but flavor wise it was nothing special. The fries were fine but also plain. The toast was only toasted on one side but did have a good flavor and was fluffy. The sauce, which everyone raved about, was also just fine. Overall the meal was plain and overpriced for what you got. I would go back if it was the only option but don't think I would choose it again if there were other options.

Service was excellent. I dined in and had the 3 piece meal. Fries: crispy, hot, not too much salt. Tasted good. Garlic bread: the most flavorful part of the meal. Toasty, buttery, garlicky...what garlic bread should be. I wish I had seen the coleslaw on the menu, I would've tried it for sure. Chicken fingers-very crispy and tender, definitely real chicken. Sizable portion for 3 fingers. Batter was crispy and not too heavy, but not super flavorful. The chicken was cooked perfectly, but lacked a distinct flavor to make it "special". Dipping sauce: meh. It was there, but lacked any distinctive flavor to make it really stand out. The staff, however, really stood out. Nice bunch of people I'm glad I tried it, it was a good meal, but not something I'd rush back for any time soon.

The price is a little high, but the quality of the food was good. I got takeout, tried the chicken and found it to be flavorful and moist, with a good crispy batter (buttermilk maybe?). Coleslaw is more cabbage based, sweet rather than vinegary. The canes sauce was good, it tasted like... Ketchup, mayonnaise, dash of paprika, dash of cayenne, dash of pepper. The only reason for the dropped star was the price. Fast food is no longer cheap, we seem to be paying the wages rather than the company...also, just down the road is Primantis, which is cheaper for some sandwiches and provides a better sit down experience. Don't get me wrong, I'll go again, and I'm glad to have one in the area.
