-ATMOSPHERE-7/10
I found the place to be very cozy. It wasn't busy or loud, and the decoration was nice. A bit of a small area, but I don't mind. Nothing totally stood out, but it was definitely solid. -SERVICE-9/10 Our server was kind and helpful. Food came out quickly. No complaints. -FOOD Prices: 7.5/10
No complaints on the prices paid. Nothing crazy cheap, but definitely very solid. Portion sizes: 9.5/10. (base) Salad-4/10
I enjoyed the dressing, and the portion size was generous, but it was absolutely drenched in it-the lettuce was soggy and it was too pungent for me. It definitely could have used something crunchy-I think it comes with the upgraded versions (I only got the regular). The few pepperonis and cheese I got with mine VERY well so make sure to order one with more of them. Overall, 5/10, lots of improvement room from the base salad. Minestrone: 9.5/10
Wow, delicious, easily the best item I got. Came out at a great temperature and had just the right broth to vegetables ratio. Well spiced and comforting. Only thing I wish I did was get the large instead of small. Definitely getting this again if I return! Cheesy garlic bread- 5/10
It's kind of hard to mess up garlic bread and cheese, and it definitely wasn't messed up, although, nothing special. The large amount of cheese made the texture feel soggy, but I'm not a huge cheese guy so take it with a grain of salt. The taste was fine, but nothing special. A generous portion with two decent sized bread pieces. A decent side that came included with my Spaghetti. Spaghetti and Meatballs-7.5/10.
Came out at a good temperature and the portion was very generous (I had gotten the large). I couldn't finish it after I had eaten all of the beforehand. Sauce was unique, but good and authentic. Very savory, not so sweet, which I enjoy, but I know many are used to the heavily sweetened canned sauces, so it may be a shock. Nothing to write home about, but solid. Pasta had a nice texture. Meatballs were very good.
OVERALL: 7/10.
A nice, cozy resteraunt with great prices and good portion sizes for decent food. Not gourmet or relatively special but good food for...
Read moreWe've been eating here forever...ok..35+years...and we've eaten the same thing every visit...we always have a Chicks Special with Meatballs and Pepperoni....and a side of sauce...cause I can't get enough....I have eaten hundreds of these...sometimes salad...sometimes Carmelo...and always cheese bread to go with salad.... Today I needed a late lunch so I checked pricing on their website...no changes so I called and placed my order for Chicks Special with meatballs and Pepperoni and a side of sauce....I ordered to go as I didn't have time to sit down....The sandwich smelled different when I opened the box...the sauce tasted more tomatoey...didn't have that burn(you know what I'm talking about if you eat there often)...there was oil separating against the side of the carton...the meatballs were solid and lacking...the pepperoni(and there was a bunch...more than usual)was bland and the worst part was the bread was really soggy and the bottom white...not browned like usual...again I've eaten hundreds of these...It was disappointing...really disappointing.....my stomach has been upset all afternoon....I hope this was a fluke...that new ownership hasn't "cut corners"...it was definitely different...The worst part of all was the price....I've never paid more than $10 for this sandwich in all the years I've eaten it...This time it was over $15...that's half again as much....the website lists it at $7.95.......I usually pay less that $10 with the extra sauce and changes....my experience is not the same Buddys....I'm going to need a while to want to try again....but at half again as much I'm not sure it's in my budget. To mngt.....Fix the pricing on your website....I don't like gouged at...
Read moreWe visited here this afternoon and the food was delicious as always. It couldn’t get any better. However, the waitress named Alyssa had an attitude. I could tell either she was exhausted or having a hard time concentrating on being a server. She took our order and she was friendly in the beginning. But it seemed like we waited forever to get our cheesy garlic bread and when it was delivered to our table it was not cut up in small pieces like I requested when she was taking our order in the beginning. When I asked her to cut for me she just grabbed it off the table without saying a word with an attitude instead of taking it back to the kitchen with a smile to have it cut..She looked and talked with others in our party at our table but not to me. Not a word. What’s up with that? That’s highly unprofessional behavior for being a server working with the public. I didn’t appreciate it and it was noticed by the others in my group. She didn’t refill our drinks like other servers in the past, she ignored us, we had to ask for the check… it was clearly bad service all the way around. I don’t know-what her issue was but I wouldn’t want her serving food in the restaurant that I own. I see major differences in the atmosphere since they changed ownership. If I could see the difference i am sure others can too. I will go back there because of the great food only I will not sit anywhere that Alyssa is serving. See photos of the food...
